All this and no accident
Yup, looks about right. After having a bit of a hair-raising taxi ride through the streets of Bombay a few years ago, I can safely (or rather unsafely) say it's like that EVERYWHERE. I have no idea why they have traffic lights in India, because as soon as they stay red.....everyone carrys on driving through them...seriously. If you stop at a red light you WILL get yelled at!

How many genuine pearl white TT 2+2 Manuals have we got on the site?
Are they TT manuals?

Just built one of the wheels up to try and...
As luck would have it! zcentre have JUST started selling these. Chris@GetGreddy used to sell them, but since his great disappearing act of 2006, it's been and 'order them directly from overseas' affair. Which can be a paint in the ass. Anyway, http://www.zcentre.co.uk and check out new products. Only selling the fibreglass one (which is cheap as chips @ only £160!!), not the carbon fibre version that I have. Oh right, sorry, was unaware of the various different purples. I've never actually seen a purple Z in the flesh.

Yeah, although to look at, mine isn't anything that special. I've just tried to do a restoration job, from an already tidy car, I just added a few tweeks on the way. :)

At the moment mine's totally stock on a pretty much freshly rebuilt engine. Before, unbeknown to me, the waste gate solenoids were unplugged so was running unlimited boost. I rarely drive it hard, infact can only think of 2 occasions where I've really used the power. But the second time would see the problem come to light. The engine and car were...and still are low mileage and you can tell that buy looking at the car and the fact that there's no wear at all on the seats and pedals. Was a shame the engine went the way it did as it was the smoothes VG I've ever heard, infact the rebuilt one is pretty much the same. Anyway, due to the unlimited boost issue, on a hard acceleration run it melted 2 pistons. The car carried on running fine after that, just kept blowing the dipstick out. Eventually, due to blow back, one or other of the valves got coked up and I lost all compression in one of the cylinders. I already knew I needed an engine rebuild, so it wasn't a suprise when it started misfiring. I bought what I though was a good low mileage engine from a forum member who shall remain nameless...lol, it had a HG that had failed and the headbolts weren't even tightened on it, plus loads of other bits and bobs. So I got shafted in that respect as the bastard wouldn't have it back. Anyway, we stripped this engine down to find a low useage bottom end. IE, a very good, what looked like, low mileage bottom end. When we had a look at the shells, even those looked good, but replaced them anyway. One of the piston crowns had a fault with it, which might have led to the HG failure. Luckily had some spares and a match was found. The crank looked like new, the journals barely had any whitness marks on them, so fitted new shells, new piston rings a light re-hone and fitted 2 rebuilt heads. Junked my old engine as the bores were shot. Turbos were in very good condition so refitted (intend on fitting some uprated ones eventually), but not interested in a big BHP Z, just want something that looks like new and sounds like new and goes a little bit quicker than original. Car is running very well now. Still a very very quiet and smooth VG. The engine's run in now, so will be going to see John Dixon in the spring. After fitting some new 02 sensors, it's having a new chip and some 1mm boost jets fitted. So should be back up to a nice 350bhp. Everyone has a go saying all I like is stock. Which is true to a certain extent. but also a bit of a myth as I love big power Zs and modified Z’s (and was looking forward very much to seeing kirbz finish his silver one). I just hate ungainly ugly bodykits (as there is some absolutely horrendous stuff you can get for the Z32), awful colour schemes and nasty wheels. I bought the Z for the way looked, certainly don’t want to go adding horrible odds and sods to it as it really does not need it.

Kirbz had a 400 - 500bhp Z over in Japan that he was going to bring over. TBH, a 500bhp is more than enough to give you the 5hits and giggles. When mine wasn't running standard boost, I always thought it was plenty fast enough. It's back on standard boost and whilst everyone else still thinks it's quick, I want it back to how it was and it wasn't anywhere near 500bhp.

Good man nothing cheesey then. Nice to hear. The black Aussie one is lovely. Too many garish creations going about at the moment....Although personally, I don't care too much matt coloured cars either. Each to their own though. Mac's beast most likely?

You 'could' build your own car though. Find a cheap TT Z with a less than healthy engine and build a high performance monster with a nice paint job. I guess you want something out of the box though and I can see the appeal in that. Someone else's hard graft and patience that you don't have to deal with.

Personally reckon it would go for more, but just covering my arse. Yeah, for the power it'll give you, £20k would make it a bargain. Could be nearer that figure. Good luck with it. Certainly a nice car. Just fit a nice spoiler and bin that awful tacho if you do and it'll be a really nice one.

wheels
You can get big brake conversion kits which include a carrier spacer for the caliper and a larger diamer disk. Smithy does them http://www.smithys-place.co.uk Get some similar looking rear disks as well ie, grooved/cross drilled or both to match the fronts. Nothing worse than seeing a car with really nice new front rotors with grooves etc and stock rusty rear ones.

I reckon that one would go for £15k+ tidy standard examples (TT manual) still fetch £10k

....make sure you do order stagered widths...ie 8.5 front 9.5 or 10" rear....looks best IMHO. Would look wrong with all the sames widths. Also, make darn sure you get some photos up when you do fit them!!!!!

Think they are straight fit. Because they are made to order, I think they come in whatever you specify.

Looking through an old thread of Gregs, he paid around £1500 all in (although might cost you more as greg ordered 8.5' all round...tooooo narrow for the rear... and they sent him 10" rears.....which is what he should have ordered anyway... ;)). Tis a single peice rim, but think they are cast rather than forged. Not a problem though as they are good quality. His rears were 10" wide BTW. Not sure where you're based, but you could get them from here. You do have to pre-order them.....with a wait! http://www.stsmotorsport.co.uk/azev.asp

Still a hideous dash. Look at all the stuff bolted to it too. Looks a right royal mess. Those stupid tachos look dreadful too. That Supra (nasty spoiler aside) does look really nice though. I can appreciate they are fine machines though with more tuning potential than the VG30DETT.

Oh Azev! Yes, lovely rims, you can't go wrong with those....few of our members have those, Mac, RichardSmith and greg's old Z....

The Big Chill
Dude it's not actually that expensive to run 2 cars. The money you save on fuel you could buy something like a 306 diesel to thrash around in. I use to have a Cavalier as a daily runner. £250 with T&T and a full tank of fuel, was in fantastic condition, burned no fuel and didn't care about whether I trashed it. I didn't, I kept it up together and made £300 on top of what I paid for it when I sold it. Infact, I bought a really tidy Citroen BX TZD Turbo about 2 years ago for £70 with T&T. I love bargain cars. :) Sure, buy the car with the premise to be used daily, but Zeds and snow/ice do not mix. Anyway, I'm not saying don't do it...just saying that having 2 cars isn't as expensive as you might think.

Z Clubs 30th birthday Silverstone parade laps
I reckon we should all meet up on the previous day (Saturday), spend all day cleaning cars and talking bollocks to make afresh for the following day at Silverstone. :) Would be good with a decent show of people....which there looks like there will be.
