Cool! Stand alone management then....more than likely designed and built by John himself! That WILL sound amazing when done. TBs make even a 4 banger sound good. Unfortunately never really increases engines much in the way of torque, but BHP fingers should rise substantially. Saying that, not sure how V8s respond to TBs. So all that gear is custom? Excellent stuff. Interested to see what sized trumpets you'll be using.

I will add though, that the BMW 535 Twin Turbo diesel is a fine unit. My best mate had an 06 plate one for a while and the torque was fantastic. The only engine worthy of being fitted IMHO...the cost...christ! Just not worth it.

I remember that. They couldn't have fitted a worse engine. That one is the same unit fitted to Metrocab London Taxis and Nissan Serenas. They hit 60 in about 20 seconds. One of the slowest production diesel engines ever made! LOL It's just so oxymornic. The chap states that serious money has been spent on this conversion....yet, obviously the reason fitting a diesel is to save money on fuel. Just seems a pointless task.

IMHO that's a weak spot and I'd renew it regardless of how well it could be repaired. I am sure there are plenty of good second hand N/A radiators on here that one of the traders could get hold of if you didn't want to splash out on a new one.

A litre is quite a bit considering sump capacity is about 3 and a half litres. What you may get is excess crank case pressure. This will result in blow back which is probably what you're experiencing. It can blow seals. So check under the car to sea of your crank case seal is weeping, as well as cam seals and sump gasket. If you get too much blowback then you'll get issues with valves not sealing in their seat and you'll loose compression. But that would be after prolonged exposure to it I'd imagine.

Interesting. I always thought they had belts on cones that moved up and down like a selector fork. I think that's CVT system as that's basically all internal in a gearbox, but the variomatic looks like it's all external?

As for the Ladas...well, words can't describe. A more worthy automotive creation are those little toy cars made from old coke cans built buy 1 legged HIV infected 5 year old kids in Namibia.
