Do you have the original that it was taken from? The trim is clipped on. Use a flat blade screw driver covered in masking tape. Gently work the full length up until it pops off.

Just pops off. The surround is bonded on and is one large thing that goes over the top of the roof to the other window.

So who was it that did it and have they given an explanation as to why?

DO NOT use lubricant on the Apexi filter. They aren't designed to be cleaned. You can use compressed air though to blow black crap through the pleates.

Agreed Dave. Carbon look only works on some colours. I think maybe you should have it painted a colour of your choice. Maybe an anthracite colour?

Leave it on, looks FAR better with it on than off. Looks like you've had a half-arsed paint job done on it and haven't refitted the trim. BTW, there is paint underneath that.
