Idle control valve. Not sure what they are like on Zeds, but is it a small reciprocating valve that's plummed somewhere into the inlet? Lets metered air into the inlet to keep it idling...gets all gummed up??? Am I along the right lines?

...what do they actually do? I'm guessing they govern some sort of crank case breather system. I have a stalling problem with my car and fluctuating idle/miss. Now if I drive hard, then if I was to come to a halt, depress the clutch, the car would stall. Is this due to PCV valves?

Erm, well, I'm a bit like krsmayo to be honest. My last day in my current job and the past 2 weeks have been a ball ache, so spent a lot of time on here.....hope I'm not posting up too much crud...I'd hate to be put in that same group of people posting up real 5hite....although not seen all that much of it going on on here....anyway, I'm going off topic...back to topic. :D

Not meaning to sound an arse...but really, aren't people getting a little bit too worked up over all this? I personally have not seen anything nasty said on the board, just tongue 'n' cheek stuff. Fair enough, there is a point were maybe it should stop, but it's nothing really that bad. This is just an observation as I'm not applauding or condoning it

Your arguments are kind of invalid really. A Nova with a C20LET engine in it is going to be quicker than most things. Infact, one running EDS phase chips will chase and beat Skylines up the strip. It's all swings and roundabouts. The ZX is a fast car. Most things with 6 cylinders and two turbos generally are.

I wasn't too sure on the exhaust on my zed, but very happy with it. I have a Veilside Evolution exhaust system on mine, lovely and smooth and looks fairly nice. Don't like them that loud to be honest, but this one is spot on. :)

Not all are like that though. The places around here still use the old stamp and written certificate. :)

As with all old cars, especially performance cars, a lot get driven hard and abused. Plenty of nice ones about, but LOTS of crappers. I paid over the odds for mine, because I wanted something as near as standard and well looked after as possible. Other than a dud battery and some loose oil pipes, it's good so far, need a wheel bearing though.

Maybe we should have a 'muppets corner' forum or something. I quite enjoy the silly threads....because I get rather bored at work. Poor excuse, but could keep the silly stuff in there. Some of it I find quite amusing.

Because there weren't any....it wasn't busy...the point of it is, I didn't want to come back to my zed with a car parked there with dents up the door...the spaces in Morrisons are stupidly small. I was tucked away out of sight. I happened on my old car and made a right mess.
