  1. LOL, I'll run it once every other week, switch everything on like A/C, get the car up to temp etc. But I was quite strict with myself with my last car. Only used it in the summer. Any hint of salt and it makes me squirm!! Prefer not to drive it in the wet. Have only done so once since I've had it and that was on the day I collected it, so no choice in the matter.
  2. Can't afford to run it everyday and don't want to waste its live sat in traffic jams....have a banger for that and have a company car replacing that banger shortly. I want to preserve my Zed. Hence the reason that at the end of October, it goes into a nice heated garage with a dustsheet on it until mid-April time. :D
  3. A robin?? I really want a Reliant Robin. Just to smash up and do silly things in. It's trying to find one for a fiver that's the problem. :(
  4. Don't care that's it's old and is an afordable performance car. I've been out in it most of the evening and totally love it to bits still! The more I drive it, the more I love it. I'm back home now drinking vodka realising that I'm a lucky chap owning something a bit different, a bit powerful. It's not just the lovely driving position and the car's composure, it's not just that lovely engine. It's the whole presence the car has. I get people looking at it as if it was a Ferrari, not some 14 year old Datsun. Happy. :) Please excuse this rather pants thread. Just happy at the moment, started my new job on Wednesday and that's going really well too. After 3 years of total hell and almost bankrupcy, I've hauled my ass out of the hole I was in, got the job I've wanted for a long time and got a sports car I've lusted after for years and years. :) It's wierd that for a long wait, life is now on the up. Feel quite fortunate at the moment and I just pray that it lasts!
  5. Who do I look like then?(apart from a misserable f.ucktard....) Dunno anything about that site.
  6. Need to insure my Cavalier for 3 weeks until I get my company car, but can't add it to my 300ZX policy unless I hand over £100....kinda low on funds at the moment. Anyone know anywhere that'll insure bargain bangers for short periods for not a lot of money? Probably a daft question! LOL

Could be either an exhaust heatshield rattling or a turbo heatshield. Mine rattle a bit when on boost.
  8. I like autos, but for me personally, it's manual all the way...B, it's more fun and you have more interaction with the vehicle, B, it doesn't feck up quite as bad as autoboxes when things go Pete Tong.
  9. Sorry, but I think you look more like Ralph Schummacher.
  10. That's quite a small sump capacity really. Guess it's top stop oil surges maybe. My old V6 Vauxhall took just under 5 litres.
  11. Why not be just done with and fit the engine in a Nova. ;)
  12. Looked like it had early lights to me....maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.
  13. ..anyone watched the news about Hurrican Katrina today? Tiny snippet shows a shot looking at the back of a battered black spoilerless Zed, all the windows blown out. Dented to feck and covered in 5hite. Anyone spotted this?
  14. Sure thing. Not gonna slate them, but you sure can't compare them. Zed has everything for me at the moment.
  15. Spoiler is utterly vile. Hate them, zero style with those. Just minging. Carbon bonnets unpainted just look like cheap unpainted patern bonnets from a distance. Ok other than that. Prefer the pearl yellow though. :)
  16. Thanks, yeah, it was quite good fun. Looking back on it, maybe a waste of cash. But I bought that when I was 21. Had it for too long really, due to redunancy, I couldn't afford to upgrade, so was lumbered with it. Can't see myself growing out of the zed. It's fun and sporty, but mature enough to be taken seriously. :)
  17. Red top turbo was the C20LET as fitted to the Calibra and Cavalier 4x4 Turbos. Not a bad engine, quite smooth. XE with carb will produce around 185 - 195bhp / 155 - 160 lbs ft of torque, so pretty much throttle body terratory.
  18. 5ft10...so I'm not that tall, bit out of proportion. :) ie, HUGE dipper!
  19. I built a MK3 Astra Cabrio 3.0 V6. Did this ages ago, but only just sold it...stealthy, but fairly nippy. Grew out of it totally and got bored.
  20. Got mine and I love it! Don't drive it much though......
  21. No, it's stopped smoking now. Rings don't heal themselves....hehe ;) So, combo of oil level too high and maybe old PCVs....which will be replaced forthwith.
  22. Would be interesting to know how many forum members we have on here that don't own/drive Zeds but who are general enthusiasts. When I joined, I didn't own a Zed, infact, I subscribed before I'd even put the deposit down for the one I have now...(although timeframe for this all was only a month)...Always knew I'd get one I guess. :)

18th is fine for me I think. I know as of late, you've had some serious issues mate, but wondering if you have ideas on a venue.
