  1. I do hang my head in shame. Well spotted. No excuses, that's basic English and quite a pathetic mistake.
  2. Dude, the Zafira weights over twice as much as a VX220. Same reason people put Calibra Turbo engines in Novas....now as much as everyone hates reality, that is going to be as quick or if not quicker than a TT zed...as much as everyone hates Novas, with a C20LET in it, they'll hit 60 in about 5 - 6 seconds....with a bit of luck from Mr Racelogic.
  3. I've got a dual tone horn from a Vauxhall Cavalier lying around in the garage that I'm going to fit. Nice and loud and sounds like a 'propper' horn, not something fitted to an E reg Nissan Micra 1.0 Collette with horrible seats and two tone paintwork.
  4. Of course the TT has more torque overall, but it has less torque per tonne than the VX220 Turbo. VX220 turbo will still cain it up a hill to a point. Gearing/final drive is different, so only at about 130 - 140 will a TT Zed be waving bye byes.
  5. He probably wasn't trying or it was a 2.2 N/A
  6. You under estimate the VX220 Turbo Dave. It's almost a second quicker to 60 than a standard TT Zed. That's not 'just about', that's quite a bit quicker.
  7. VX220 turbo would wave bye bye to a TT zed. In straight like speed (apart from top speed) and also cornering abilities. It's the same 2.0 16v 200bhp turbo engine (Z20LET) as fitted to the Astra GSi/coupe T abd Zafira GSi. The N/A version is the Y22SE (2.2) and is around 140bhp, which is still pretty good in something as lightweight as a VX220.
  8. No, I didn't say alluminum did I. Chequer plating is an effect, not a material. Not liking tat, doesn't mean to say I wear slippers. ;)
  9. Yeah get it checked. My pistons out of my old engine suffered detonation and they've melted!
  10. That's no better IMHO. Just longer lasting. Chequer plate is the stuff they make fire escapes out of, just looks daft inside a car, especially something like a Zed.
  11. Currently I work in vessel management but I want to get back into sales. But not in the full capacity. Sales engineer...it's only moderate technical knowledge, but I have engineering type qualifications and also sales experience. It's a global position as well. Lots of traveling. Since I have no real ties over hear, it would be the ideal lifestyle.
  12. Applying for another job right now, need some advice..or rather, anyone that has a good CV, if they could send me a copy to give me an idea of ideal layout and content. My last CV was very good, but can barely remember how it was exactly. Thanks Si
  13. NO!!! Chequer plate flooring/mats are possibly the worst thing you can do to the inside of a car! :hurl:
  14. That's not that old skool...Global Hypercolor is though! LOL
  15. Does anyone remember these things? Used to see them stuck on old VW Golfs and such like..well, tended to be VWs anyway. Back in the 80s.
  16. Absolutely. Can't even believe you're considering it. Those chrome/alloy look wipers are purile. By all means do it, but make sure you buy some seat belt harness pads and chequer plate floor matts to match it all. Along with under car neons and Max Power style seat covers. As for the other stuff, you have my blessing. :D
  17. Cracking cars, the VXR model is an monster and will see off a Zed.
  18. I'm interested to know how much these oil filled rear subframe bushes are as 2 of mine are leaking.
  19. ...BTW, I think I saw your yellow Zed when I was in Torquay last month. Was parked outside Kwik Fit?
  20. Could be leaky inlet coolant pipes. These are round the back of the fannymould. I've just had all mine removed and blanked whilst having my engine rebuilt.
  21. Absolutely stunning is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I feel the same every other day. To be honest, if I had to choose again, it DEFINATELY would not be a Zed. But I'm lumbered with it now and I'm having the engine rebuilt, so will see how I feel when I get it back. What pisses me off, is the fact that I spent ages looking for a good one and paid good money, I bought the best standard one I could find, not an cheapo ebay shitter and yet I still had to go and rebuild/replace everything.
  23. Good man! Just get some 99-spec rear lights and 99spec rear spoiler and it will finish it off a treat. :D
