  1. Hi I have been looking for a service and repair manual for some time now (hard copy) and have found a 1996 edition version with an al black front with white lettering on the net. Will this be ok for a 1990Z I have seen another version dated 1994 for a similar price too and just wondered what woul dbe the best one to go for? any idea? If anyone knows of a manual for sale let me know too I have already posted in the wanted section but no luck so far. Next month there will probabaly be 2 for sale lol.
  2. Thanks guys will let you know how I get on lots of checking to do
  3. Aircon controller pod is not working in my Z. Checked all fuses and relays in footwell and under bonet. Changed pod over aswell. Any suggestions working fine one day next day nothing.
  4. Im sure there was a blue one like that too that the same guys had before it looks good in my opinion. I feel sorry for them getting their work copied just seems low to me but thats life I guess, shame. Great car though. They have obviously put a lot of time into it.
  5. Iphone there is even a programme or two for it now where you can use it a s ag meter in your car and for drag runs etc but it needs calibrating properly. Programme costs around £8 then free forever more. Got good reviews, not tried it myself but seems like fun, dotn know how accurate though. Also Googles new phone see: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7630888.stm
  6. Got to be the Aristo mk1 for me that has the supra tt lump in it. Fantastic power as standard plus can be easily tuned for a lot more power and you dont see many around.
  7. My old car had the cats out and the previous owner had cut out a piece from the back boxes took out whatever was in there I think and welded them back up so it was pretty much just pipes too. Good for a weekend car and didnt sound too over the top very distinctive note as it had non standard back boxes anyway. Brings a smile to your face anyway. That Probabaly didnt help the tubs though.
  8. Thanks for the info guys much appreciated, now I know what is needed.
  9. Glad you are ok , well if the Z has had it, at least it went out in style and not by some bloody idiot pulling out and hitting it. Shame but your health is the most important thing.
  10. Hi when looking to replace the rear lights on the Z are the jap and uk ones the same? I am looking to get replacement rear lights for a UK Series 1 tt so will there be any difference if I get lights off a jap car? Will the lights need modding if I try using the jap lights on a uk car? I have seen a few lights for sale but they are all jap and I would rather know first before getting any surprises when it comes to fitting the lights in.
  11. I have been very impressed with the Falken 452's compared to others I had on the rears.
  12. Today I finally said goodbye to my lovely black UK Z. After over 3 years of ownership and some big bills, I sold it to a close friend who is a mechanic so it will be taken care of but I feel a bit gutted. I cant believe its gone, I was just not using it though and with another son soon on the way I can no longer justify having it and the lexus to the wifey. She will be driving next year and I just have to think of practicalities, we dont have the space for three cars. I dont post that much on the forum but most days I look through the posts and I have learnt so much from some of the people on here respect to you guys this is a great forum and club. I was considering getting another Z and have been very tempted but I cant justify it just yet. Its sad to see so many good Z's going for pennies. All I hope is that they go to people that appreciate them. They are the best car I have driven and I just love the feeling of sitting in the Z. I would like to think that sometime in the future I will have another but who knows when now. My Z was a standard UK spec early 89-90 number 121 on chassis. Full service history tens of thousands spent just on keeping her standard. All she had extra was decat and bigger SE back boxes, having been loked after most of her time by SE nissan when they were around and she had a full leather retrim in cream with black piping. Very good solid body. Used to get so many remarks from loads of people of all ages even the odd person knocking on the door for a chat, it had no fancy spoilers etc and in my opinion just looked classy. Anyway the Z's gone now and it does not feel right even though I did not use her much but life goes on. But what a car.
  13. I have used A1 Wheel Renovation who are based in Wolverhampton and you can post your wheels to them. They dont have a website and are quite a small outfit. I think 3-5 guys, but when I checked them out and went down they explained quite a lot of garages use them by sending in their customers wheels for them to do. They had BMW deliveries in from dealerships while I was there, they were very open about everything and have been around for years now, also when I asked a friend to ask around he came back with the same company's name so it might be worth having a word. I am saving up at the moment to have my Lexus mk1 GS300 rims refurbished 10in rears and 8in fronts. All I have is a business card. They say: Specialists in: Powder coating and wet painting, diamond turning and polishing service, 2 and 3 piece wheel repair and refurbishment, high power silver and platinum silver, pothole damage repair service. I can post their number if you want but have not as I am not sure if that would count as advertising.
  14. Could the chip not be telling the ECU to do that to ensure that the car gets a little more cooling going on because of the increased power etc? Just a thought if everthing else seems fine now.
  15. Hi it might be ok but I am sure that I read something on this forum about some clutches being sold on ebay being over their shelf life date so people could have problems, maybe someone else could explain better.
  16. Deep breath, pint, re-focus, spacers next then you are all ready to roll. Fridays eh!
  17. It might be that in certain circumstances government and military vehicles or vehicles aquired for such use in emergencies may have such numbers displayed on them. Then the publics use of such numbers may cause a problem in a time of need. I know many vehicles have numbers on the roof so that planes and helicopters can see and track them more easily. This is just my theory!
  18. Great, thanks for the quick responses, this forum is just the best :)
  19. Which is best, what's the difference/ benefit?
  20. That is a real obsession, someone that wants to live in a stereo. That muct be some kind of fetish. Very strange, too much money and time if you ask me.
  21. From what I can make out if you have the skills to do most of the work yourself and not forgetting the time, then it can be well worth it otherwise its just ends up spiralling in price and garages you pay wont always do the best job simply given the time/ cost factors, its uncharted territory for many. would be awesome to have a V8 Zed though.
  22. Do you have to change any settings or balance when putting big brakes like those on to stop the wheels just locking up when braking? Look a fantastic upgrade
  23. That is naff. Someone will like it though he he. surely it must make the car go at least twice as fast! lol
  24. Hi yeah I know they are closed down now I was just interested to see if any of the mechanics etc were still involved in the Z scene. Those guys had a lot of experience so was wondering if they were around.
  25. Hi just been loking through the vast history and documents folder that comes with my Z and it has been looked after quite a lot by SE Nissan in the past who are now closed. I was just wondering what happened to the people that fixed the cars there, are they still in the trade or on this forum, part of the comunity etc. Just out of interest really I guess the people involved must have a lot of knowledge about Z's. Anyone know?
