  1. Another one for the zed matey!
  2. First proper bimble about since I bought it in Feb. With roof off and tunes up; grin factor was cranked to the max - lovin it big time. Enjoyed it so much I started a new blog especially for my beloved zed! http://steveszed.blogspot.co.uk/
  3. Been grim up north m8, looks like you've fetched us some sunshine back :thumbup1:
  4. Richard, I thank you for your advice bud. I've washed & waxed it today and knocked out a few pics whilst out n about today. When I came back and was looking through them, I was thinking exactly the same thing.....they suit it silver! Here's my blog with a few of the pics on.... http://steveszed.blogspot.co.uk/ I haven't made up my mind totally yet, but until I can rustle up funds for a wheel upgrade, I think I'll probably keep em standard....
  5. Fitted new backboxes yesterday.....Washed n waxed the zed this morning and then out bimbling round the Cheshire countryside taking in the fresh-air; roof off and ICE cranked-up as a Health & Safety Risk Assessment towards any hikers & ramblers that might have been lurking around bends... http://steveszed.blogspot.co.uk/
  6. Yeah Birkenhead is handy-ish to me, what was the damage for a set of 4? Did u have to de-rubber them or have they got the facilities? Must admit I do quite like that colour u got there, retaining that 'stock' look with just a hint of 'pimping', lol
  7. Ta bud. I'll bear these in mind, but its about 180 mile round trip from mine which I'd have to factor in (juice-wise) to the costing.....
  8. Wow £25 a corner sounds pretty cheap. How long does that take and is there a variety of colour to choose from?
  9. Yeah, they look smart. What colour is ur car?
  10. Yeah that's pretty much the shade I had in mind Paul. I like the look of that, and reckon it would compliment my red paint quite nicely...
  11. Ok guys, still a bit skint after buying my zed in Feb. Car is in red and in standard stock form with black leather trim and factory wheels. I don't really mind the standard rims tbh and replacing tyres will obvs be a more economical task. (The car had 350z alloys on at the garage that was selling it, which I wasn't too fussed on and negotiated a substantial discount if they were swapped back) I've been toying with giving the car/rims a new lease of life as a cheap 'pimp' by painting them a different colour to stock. I had in mind either a satin black, a darkish/gunmetal metallic or maybe even gold? Anybody thoughts/suggestions on this subject or any pics of similar projects would be gladly appreciated.... Cheers Steve J
  12. Don't know if I could be doin with the mither of taking it all off Dan, and having car off the road etc. I'm not after a 'show car' finish, just think its a little bit grubby and could do with freshening up, if u know what I mean......
  13. Thanks Andy, I'll give that a try for a tenner......
  14. Like the sound of that, but removal looks like a big job, innit?
  15. Anybody got some tips for cleaning up a plenum? Had a go with autosol and scouring pad last week, but wasnt very succesful.....
  16. Just to clarify, it was the 'old' filter that I took off the car that was bigger than stock and wouldn't fit in the clamp. The new one is correct size but significantly smaller.......
  17. My logic is that surely once the fuel pump fills with fuel, the fuel pump would dictate the flow; the actual capacity of the filter should not make any difference, surely?
  18. Had a cutting out issue with my 2+2 TT Auto that eventually proved to be the MAF. During my investigation of the fault I replaced the fuel filter, as this was a cheap task and I had just bought the car and couldn't verify how new the current one was.... The filter however looked brand new. It was also a lot bigger than stock as the clamp fixing it to the inner wing would not go around it properly. I am now wondering if there is an advantage in having an 'oversized' fuel filter? I do not know the history of the vehicle (injector sizes, performance tweaks etc) but it seems pretty stock from what I can see.....
  19. Pretty good advice all round so far, can't disagree with any of these comments. I'm 47 now with 3 'kids'. Prob been through most of the holiday dramas with kids u can dream up, I would imagine: Stranded at Menorca airport 24hrs due to plane breaking down, refused certificate to fly home from Lanzarote due to toddler picking up ear infection from swimming pool, plane engine fire mid-flight, lost suitcases, stolen iPods etc. etc. Holidays with kids can be stressful. Any/most time in the company with your kids can be stressful! The time you spend with your kids when they're young, you can't buy later on in life if you don't.....I can remember most of the holidays I went on with my mum & dad when I was younger, as I'm sure most of you will. Those memories are invaluable. My youngest is 16 now and still holidays with us, or should I say still wants to holiday with us...... Stop worrying and get it sorted! As my wife & I have gotten older, any holidays/breaks we have without our kids are never the same, and you always miss them and wonder what they're up to if they're not there......
  20. Hi Rich, I would like to turn out to this also. I'm based up near Haydock Racecourse (J23 M6) so it's only about an hour for me. Will send the entry money via PayPal if u send us ur PayPal email to stej@live.co.uk.
  21. Yeah, they're doign something a bit dodgy with their cat back exhausts too.....been watching a few the last couple of weeks, when they don't seem to be fetching much on the auction they get removed.....then I'll get a message a few days later saying 'an item u were watching has been relisted'
  22. I used to be able to back pedal on my fizzer!
