Proper David Bailey on ur hands there Keith! Smashing trip out for me, great to meet my local zed-heads and put a few faces to names. A bit nippy to say the least, but on the bright side at least the ice creams lasted a bit longer! Liquorice & Blackcurrant Ice Cream though, wow, omg, to die for.....:tt2:

Can I fit a VW Radio Navigation to my Z
I've got a chinese copy of this set in my zed. If I remember correctly your one is called something like the MF2D? I have an Octavia II Vrs with 'Stream mp3' and looked at upgrading to a second hand one of these out of a Tuareg that would slot straight in. The feedback I was getting off the skoda forums was that it would have needed to be programmed via the car brains etc to operate due to canbus etc. Weather the issue working (or not) would have been with my actual car brains or the sat-nav brains, I don't know (the fact that my zed doesnt have canbus wiring might negate this problem). I ended up buying a chinese copy of it that worked so well in the skoda (over 3 years now) I bought another for my zed. You can re-program the boot-up screen to show a Nissan logo too on these chinese copies. You can buy a Nissan-Quadlock adaptor off ebay for a handfull of quid that saves you hacking your original connectors. I had an issue with the switched-live and perm live that must be different on the VW to the Nissan, but if you're contemplating a task such as this I'm sure you will suss that easily enough yourself. In any case it will take a degree of hacking of your centre console (both plastic & metal) to fit it in, so my advice to you would be to definitely check it DOES work ok before you commence the hacking.....otherwise you will be stuck with an odd shaped cavity to try n fit another set into..... Mine is not quite finished off properly yet. I still need to make a bit of an infil around it to hide a few small gaps, but I think it looks great. Gives it a nice n modern look..... Good look with it, in any case. SJ

Thanks Joel, £40 seems quite reasonable. Not too fussed about cruise control tbh. Rich, who are MJP? Do they have a website?

insurance warning
It goes without saying that the bloke who bought the M3 has a lot to answer for... The days of selling a car to an 'anonymous bloke from the pub' are long gone. Everyone has a legal obligation to provide keeper details now, and although he claims he doesn't have them, he is therefore committing an offence and can/will be prosecuted for it. The chain of events with the accident obviously follow on after his 'fictitious' sale, so you should hopefully be firewalled..... If they can't identify the driver of the M3, the Merc's insurance will have to pursue their claim via the MIB. The fact that your policy had not yet been cancelled doesn't make the anonymous driver insured anyway. If it was your 17 year old next door neighbour driving you home from the pub on his provisional licence when this happened, would he be insured then? Stand your ground mate. The worst you are responsible for is tardy-admin, and on that note, let-him-without-sin, and all that!

Steering wheel boss & HICAS
Got a standard TT steering wheel that is a bit tatty around the edge, and have seen a few aftermarket ones that I thought would look nice on my zed. The trouble is, most of the boss-kits state that they are not suitable for HICAS unless lock-out bars are fitted etc. Seen one on eBay last night that's quite close to me that the seller says is off a Z32 twin-turbo. I asked him where he sourced his boss for this and he sent me one of the ebay links I've already seen that state 'not suitable for HICAS, etc.' , He stated that the boss has NOTHING to do with HICAS and quantifies this by stating that his HICAS was working fine with the wheel/non-hicas boss combo. From the reading up I've done, I find this information to be incorrect; something about a sensor & wiring at the rear of the wheel/column that activates/controls the HICAS? Have I mis-read this set-up, or is the guy feeding me duff-gen? I'm aware of the wheel cruise control issue and have seen these moved/mounted on the dash, which doesn't bother me as its not something I tend to use....

Is anyone any good at drawing something on a PC i.e graphic designer or illustrator?
Dean, I've asked our Ryan.. He says he'll have a look but he's already got a few paid foreigners on the go re-branding/designing logos which he's presently working on when he gets in from work (in between Fifa, COD & pubs obvs!). If there's a short time frame mate, he probably isn't ur answer, if there isn't and u can bear with him, i'm sure he will eventually get round to sorting......

Engine set on fire whilst driving!
Excellent advice Mark, agreed also.:thumbup1:

Anyone familiar with the VAG 1.8T engines?
Yeah, like I said, the Audi only does it when ur givin it the beans at high revs. Once I got used to it I just timed my clutching and gear changes accordingly (ie give it half a sec after taking foot off the gas before dipping clutch to change up). It's only done 55,000 from new and apart from my occasional weekend blasts in it, it has had a pretty pedestrian life....

Anyone familiar with the VAG 1.8T engines?
Hi Baz, our family hack is an 2006 A4 2.0T S-line estate, that does that revs temp sticking thing when u cane it...my works car is a 2007 Skoda Octavia VRs 2.0 FSi which doesn't. When I first jumped in the Audi after driving the Skoda I thought my foot was catching the clutch pedal! Never looked into it tbh, just put it down to the characteristics of the 2 different engines (the VRs being more responsive than the S-line).

Cheers Ian, that's coming a close second to the silver now and it wasn't even on the list!

Wheel colour (again)
I hear u brother......to be fair the shade of gold was a quick cobble up on Photoshop with yellow, orange & red; would prob want it a shade or two darker than that.....there was just something about the red with gold wheels look that appealed to me. Reminds me of an old sports car but can't think what.... Must be my flashbacks to the 80's or something! Like u say, it's all about individuality really....one mans meat is another mans poison.......I'll probably keep em silver (save on a load of work n mither too) and consider a change when I've got a bit tired of the look...

Wheel colour (again)
That does look sweet mate.......like u say though, wouldnt suit my 350z rims - - - Updated - - - cheers lads, appreciate your thoughts.....looking like 'if-it-aint-broke-don't-fix-it' then, so far

Wheel colour (again)
Cheers Joel. They're in pretty decent nick already (not mint, but still quite tidy) so not crying out for a paint/refurb; just not too sure. I must admit though, when I stuck em on last week I thought 'yeah, they'll do just like that'

Wheel colour (again)
Ok, swapped my rims back to the 18" 350z set that was on prior to me buying my zed. Still toying with the idea of painting them though..... Had a mess about on photoshop with black and with gold, any thoughts/choices as to what looks best? Chucked a standard one in as well so u can see what they're like now silver..... I know gold is a bit 'old school' but I kinda like it (prob being an old git!) The black photoshop is a bit ropey but I rushed them over a brew this morning.....u get a rough idea though
