What's wrong with a rebore? More displacement and it will surely equate to about the same cost as a new lump anyway? Sorry to hear you have to spend money believe me I know it's a sh1te feeling but I don't see the logic in dumping a newish block on the basis that you may have to do what people do to perfectly good engines to make them go faster :x: If that wasn't what you meant please ignore all the above bar the condolances :D

If your motherboard has voltage adjustment facilities in the BIOS try bumping the DRAM voltage a notch or two, some need more than the JEDEC standard of 2.5v

I'd not use a P4 for a HTPC, they need more cooling than either a Dothan or an A64 powered box, more cooling normally equals more noise. Nothing worse than trying to watch a film on a PC that sounds like it is going to take off any fly around the room! @ Danny, Windows MCE 2005 can run up to four seperate tv tuners :eek: but it's best to make sure they are all the same type
