Yep it's such a bummer as my car lay for 3 years, bit a fiddling and runs great. Boost controller is what you need mate.. Proper one Apex or somit

Filter's removed and binned .. It's more like an electrical problem to me car starts and runs fine just goes like a wheelie bin :headvswal

Hi all Right I'm looking for idea's here!! Info the car is a UK TT 1990 the owner is a new member on here "Bob from Tealing, Scotland" He bought the car with smoking turbo's and poor running (Put down to the turbo prob) about 18months ago, He then had new turbo's fitted this stopped the car from smoking but it still run's like a Fiat Panda. The bloke that fitted the turbo's lost interest and the car lay for 6month. Anyway the car run's like it's really badly retarded starts and idle's fine but couldn't pull skin off a rice pudding. Turbo's appear to spool up but the car just doesn't pull at all boost gauge doesn't work so guessing. I've listed below whats been checked any other idea's welcome. ECU - show's no faults, not checked on Consult as dono anyone up here with one. Fires on all 6 cylinders Compression tested - within limits on all AFM - connected / disconected engine does what it's supposed to Timing belt - all pully's line up to marks Car fueling ok - replaced fuel filter pressure tested General wiring inspection - everything appears to be ok had on the ramp and check under car as well. No exhaust leaks Thanks Craig

If it makes you feel any better I used to have a pub and food outlet. You don't pay VAT when ya buy food stuff but you pay VAT when you sell it. Wana see some a my VAT bills. Just my twopence worth but it's the CFM that a pain with air ratchets. Just a point never try to take anything to bit's you wana use again unless it's wheel nuts..

Totally Agree !!!.. But doesn't the fact that it looks like he's been had by someone with more money than him make it even more :tongue: ..

My stock unit never worked. After market replacement fixed it same with the boost gauge..

I had a 2.2 turbo spent more time taking the engine to bits than I did driving it. But it did look very kewl in black, even if you can totaly block your front window vision with the sun visor :)

Dave before I answer this. Pair of tyres for the rear of the M5 £748.00, the wheel valves have pressure sensors in them and must be fitted by a BMW main dealer. If you drive the car like a Fa**y it still only does 18MPG but best of all giving it full ye .. haa the dam thing will still have a TT right up it's £2300 four pipe exit system. We just had to try it :) .. I'll tell you though it's a cracking car and is more like a 3 series to drive you can't knock the quality and the six speed box is amazing.

Not trying ta be funny but had same problem with a 5ltr M5 with P Zero's turned out the front tracking was .4 of a mm out (within tolerance I may add) the car handled like a shopping trolley..

All ya have to do is listen to the exhaust.

Yep I'm getting it back Monday all going well. It's getting trailered up cause the plonker burst a brake line and all the fluid fell out and he can't get it to bleed now. He was told to leave all the mechanics to me.. Aww well.. Had a shot a Brett's TT after we refitted his exhaust and REALLY NEED MA ZED BACK ON THE ROAD !!!!!

Surely that laws a joke. If I have to view "pedestrians and other motorists" through my side window as I approach them I'm kinda sideways and the last thing they should be worried about is if I can see them or not :)
