1991 LWB TT - The Long Restoration
Slow... It looks like the cambelt has slipped a few teeth, cylinder 6 recorded zero compression. Not ideal but, it’s an excuse to pull the engine out for a rebuild and get the drivetrain, fuel tank etc out for the resparay and under seal. The journey is about to get a whole lot longer, however. It will be fun and the end result will be awesome.

1991 LWB TT - The Long Restoration
The fuel pump is sadly dead. I saw 12V at the pumps connector and then connected a battery directly to the pump, nothing… Is there a Zed go to / specific parts company in the UK for ordering cambelt kits, head gaskets and suspension components etc? Or is it best to go directly to Nissan?

1991 LWB TT - The Long Restoration
Just a quick update. Completely removed the 90’s retrofitted immobiliser and repaired the splicings on the loom. I’ll get new immobiliser/alarm fitted at a later date. Disconnected the fuel line from the fuel filter, it was bone dry... Fitted a piece of pipe to go into a fuel can I was getting codes 11 (CAS) and 13 (Water Temp) Rotated the CAS and could hear the injectors clicking, the fan would run also due to 13. I’ve ordered a new Walbro GSS279 fuel pump, fuel tank o-ring and CAS connecter. Fuel pump relay is only momentarily energising at “ON” key position. Not when cranking. 12V momentarily seen at the fuel tank connecter Have tried PFCM bypass and still no fuel flow at all. Following this, https://conceptzperformance.com/wiki/index.php/Fuel_Pump Adam.

1991 LWB TT - The Long Restoration
Hi all, The car arrives in less than a day. This whole week has really dragged by, I can’t wait to get stuck in tomorrow. It’s been sat in a garage for 18 years, the sills and underneath of the car looked sound. Plan for the worst, hope for the best. I’m fully aware there could be hidden issues due to the age of the car. Once it’s up on four jacks I’ll be able to get some pictures up. Major issues are, bodywork and the engine... I have quite a list of things that need addressing and I know that list will get longer the deeper I dig. For now, some of these are… Find out why the car was running at auction and did not when it arrived. Inspect cambelt. Drain the fuel tank, flush lines and replace the fuel filter Someones had the coils, both fuel rails, coolant hoses and inlet manifold off. (Cranked the engine over and it sounds like it could be down on compression on a few cylinders.) Inspect the coolant system. Fit the new battery. Cold compression test. Check immobiliser functionality… Inspect engine wiring harness and fuses. Inspect injectors, coils and spark plugs. Bodywork: Address rust around the top of the windscreen asap. Find a boot lid (the spoiler has rotted the boot lid). Remove lights, trims etc for a respray. Find a new windscreen. Order window rubbers and rubber trips. So here starts the journey. I guess we are all here for the ride. It will be a long one and hope that I can get the car moving under its own power soon. I’m being very optimistic but I’ll try and get it in a state ready for an MOT. All suggestions greatly welcomed!

Wikipedia - 1994 / Seat belts redesigned
Wiki says, 1994 - Seat belts redesigned; attachment points moved from door mounts to pillar mounts My Zed is a 1991, and the seat belts are not on the doors? Has someone relocated them?

Hi all, Not used forums much so hope it ok to wake this post up. Guessing that as it's been nearly nine years this would be appropriate? (I’m also very dyslexic so if I come across as condescending or incompetent, please go easy on me. Grammarly for some reason won’t work in the forums text box so I’ll be using google doc’s to compose all my messages). I managed to get myself a nice restoration project yesterday. She’s a 1991 TT auto that has been sleeping in a garage for 18 years. I’m really looking forward to sorting out the hopefully minor rust and dent issues in prep for a respray, making new or replacing worn-out parts. Dropping the engine for a rebuild. (Dare I say I have a 2JZ-GE in bits that is getting rods and forged pistons etc, that could go in if the VG is really not salvageable) Many also consider a manual conversion. This is a lot to do and as they say, Rome was not built in a day so this will be a nice gradual development project as the years pass by. I’m now a premium member and hope that as I go through this awesome journey I can contribute and feed of the knowledge to put a childhood dream back on the UK roads. Cheers, Adam.

New and looking for a 300ZX
Thank you all! As I expected, I'm not going to be getting as much as I thought for the old girl so my budget has had a small hit... Jim, your Zed is lovely!! Slightly off topic... I've not owned a car with any mods and have always try'd to keep away from them to keep things standard, just because I've never been too sure how they affect insurance plus the hassle and if buying a car, mods have been fitted well by someone with good competence and not bodged on, not pointing any fingers chaps. I hope that few Zed's have not had this, but it looks like owners fork out to get things fitted properly, (hope I'm not sounding like a toff, haha)... Could any give me some advise on this? i.e. What are the mod's that greatly affect the premiums, I would assume that having a turbo mod that obviously has a direct effect on power output (and grins too) would have a big impact?.. But what about small things like upgrading to HID's? Anyway, just looking for a Zed that as been loved... Adam

New and looking for a 300ZX
Hi all, Just registered as I'm looking at getting myself a Z... (TT or an NA, with a Manual box). My girlfriend had an accident in my old MX6 and spun her, So I'm looking at something new and improved, faster and much more fun, I aimed at keeping the MX6 for a very long time and spent allot of time and plenty of funds on it, So I would very much like to fun the new car at the same standerd but, I would really like to know about running costs and well known places to obtain spares? I would guess £3000, £4500 would get me something in reasonable condition? Many thanks, Adam
