AIV/PVRV gone now..
Well this afternoons mission was to remove the AIV andPVRV systems, I didn't bother with a write up as there are a few out there and the one i used was this it was bang on made it very easy. http://forums.nicoclub.com/how-to-delete-your-aiv-s-90-300zx-n-a-t473354.html Heres my pile of junk.. And with that gone my car suddenly doesn't leak air in anywhere as bad as it was and will actually hold a steady idle.. Just a small one to find now but i can drive it now ... well once i find the small water leak at the back of the engine

Nose job for the Z
As you know I took a bit of a risk in buying a manky TT for £500 After finding a breakers quite nearby i started buying parts to sort its looks and running issues.. This evening I got around to fitting a replacement bumper to the front, Its not perfect but it was £10 with some other stuff I got and its a huge improvement over the one that was there.. Before... After...

Car suggestions please
Good choice with the Impreza... I was this ones first owner. The only time I bought a brand new car... 3 years and 100k miles before it made way for a Hayabusa :thumbup1:

egr/aiv/prvr removal??
I have just noticed that where the exhaust has been changed to a full after market one, the AIV pipes to the exhaust have just been left hanging down they are not blocked off would this cause problems??

egr/aiv/prvr removal??
Had a bit of time this evening so i bypassed the prvr not made a difference but i have found out from an aussie site its not needed neither is the aiv or the egr. but in my tinkering i found a broken cable and presto i now have a boost gauge again on the dash, so a small victory there. There are so many small vac hoses that are cracked or loose on the connections due to being stretched and worn. Maybe its not one leak but a few  Also an aussie site recomends dumping the carbon canister too i have the info on that I'll go for that when i have the weather as i have a series 2 bumper to fit so i can do both together. The air tool is ok but i have no compressor as i have to work outside in a communal carpark so no power either. Would using an inflated tyre be too much pressure?

egr/aiv/prvr removal??
I'm still having air leak running issues with my TT and its begining to get a bit annoying now. :surrender: I've seen other people have removed the EGR/ aiv from their engines but how much more of this mess can i remove and how do i bypass it once its gone?? Heres a diagram i found online i have no idea what this all does as the only vac hose my other car has is from the distributer to the manifold. So i can only presume most of this can be binned. Any help would be gratefuly appreciated i just want to drive it now.. :thumbup1:

Idling/running issue
Bit of an update .. The weather has bee crap at best so not much has been done. Found damaged wiring on the temp sensor on the front of the engine, so i have replaced this. I was unsure of the condition of the PTU so i sourced one i know works and fitted that. It now starts fine and idles ok till it gets up to temprature when it begins reving up and down, There is also a little smoke from the exhaust when it does this on the left side. So i guess my problem is there somewhere. Been out this evening and had it running and lagged every air pipe i could see in WD40 to try and find an airleak but no Joy.

Idling/running issue
The car is low on fuel but whats in there is only a week old and its optimax or what ever shell call it now. The oil gauge doesn't work properly someone put in indiglo gauges and in the process borked the speedo/ Boost gauge and the oil pressure gauge. I have another clock set on order on ebay. Im sure theres another air leak somewhere for the uneven idle. Will test the injectors and coil packs at the weekend weather permitting.

Idling/running issue
The maf has been replaced with a new one as thats what i thought was the problem at first. Replaced the vacum hoses on the boost controler as these were perished as were a lot of the others The balance tube had a bolt snapped off in it so that has been removed/ retapped and a new bolt fitted. There was bad connections on the TPS they were green and hanging on by one shred of wire these have been replaced also. It does seem like an air leak but i've not known an air leak make it undrivable due to having no power feeling like it has no fuel.

Hi from Surrey
Thanks for the welcome I think there is a decimal point missing out on what the bumper is worth. Lets just say the previous owner hit a few speed humps too fast. It is lowered with adjustable shocks too. Just want to get out and start driving it :)

Idling/running issue
As described in my other posts heres a couple of vids of the idling/running on my Zed 1st start up.. Seems to be running rich too but also doesn't seem balanced either and if you try to drive it just holds back badly and wont accelerate. Its as if its running out of fuel.

Hi from Surrey
I'll try and get a vid of the running/driving problem at the weekend and post it in the tech section.

Hi from Surrey
I will replace it eventually. I want to get it running right first it seems odd that its only got air leak symtoms when warm but the holding back like being out of fuel and not accelerating right is when cold or hot. It also seems to run rich with it too. I will order a Consult cable and software for my laptop on payday that might shed some light onto it. One thing i have noticed while reading the forum my PTU is an early one.

Hi from Surrey
Hmm hadn't thought of that if the weather is good this weekend i'll drop the bumper and had a good poke around. Its not a particularly good brand intercooler its a Autbahn88 or something it has filters fitted buy the same brand but the chrome on them is going rusty lol must be from China.

Hi from Surrey
No someone who works 2 doors down from me it was his daily i think he couldn't find the fault with it and gave up it runs crap. When its warmed up its got lumpy up and down idle like an air leak and when driven it feels like its running out of fuel and won't pull. swapped out the airflow meter for a new one as thats what i thought it was at first. I had an Impreza turbo with the same symptoms and that cured it but not with the Z lol.

Hi from Surrey
Don't have many pics at the moment i've only had it a week, heres when i collected it. Bad times with a Supra means the dreaded headgasket fail :( My wife still has a Supra but hers is a 2jz so doesn't suffer like the 7m does. The Z is slightly modded it has a front mounted intercooler, decat exhaust, lightened flywheel, triple plate clutch, lightened pulleys an Apexi boost controller and a remap. No idea what BHP its pushing out at the moment not much by the way its running. But it should be over 300Bhp the guy i got it from seemed to think it was 420bhp. I also have a K10 Micra as a daily so this can be my project :)
