it's too expensive through those companies as my no claims are on my everyday car,

im 26 so could be an age thing, thought i'd got some really good quotes until i phoned them to pay and they said no, adrian flux did offer me a policy for £5,000 though! thats after they quoted me £330 online.

Looks like i'll just have to phone a load up tomorrow. It's just a pain goin through all the information over and over again just for them to say 'is this an import? Sorry we cant insure you.' Even though i told them it was an import from the start!!!

I'm trying to get the zed insured on a classic policy as i've already got an everyday car. I've phoned Footman James, Performance Direct and Adrian Flux but they all say they don't insure imports! It's so frustrating as im sure there's not much difference between the uk and jap spec. Anyone got any recommendations for other companies as it's looking like i'll never get the car on the road.

My mates got a DeLorean, i love them! His isn't crap not with all the mods he's done. He was on that wheeler dealers episode at the end when they were sellin the car. I saw a gold plated one in reno last year aswell, stunning!!

yeh that sounds like it mate. spoiler was bubbling, slight bit of rust on the t-tops. There's some pictures on my profile page i think.

It's red, not on the road yet though. Bought it a few months ago from a guy in rock ferry (was on ebay), need a new spoiler and wanna get the interior refurbed, desperate to get it on the road for the summer!

Mine doesn't work either, i thought it was the cluster so i changed it for another jap spec one (but converted to mph) but still only works when it wants to. Been told it could be the speed sensor on the gear box that needs replacing.

seen this on ebay. I wana paint my roof bars black too and get the back window tinted, think it looks great! Might have to come and take a look, in Wirral too, in Prenton.

Has anyone got any advice on how to remove an original spoiler? Or is it just a case of applying heat and trying to pull it off? I wasn't sure if there are screws holding it on. So far I've only managed to break the ends off.

The old speedometre in my car was broke so i got a second hand one and fitted it yesterday. However, it still doesn't work so obviously the problem wasn't the instument panel. I'm thinking it must be a cable or maybe a sensor but not too sure where to start. The rev counter works as does the temp gauge but i cant tell how fast im going which isn't good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i like that rear spoiler. Anyone got an idea what make it is or where i could get one

it's an '89 model and i'm pretty sure there's no connectors there. It's only the drivers seat that's electric. Do you think it would be easy for someone with no experience of electrics to do?

Hey guys, got some second hand leather seats for the zed, which were delivered today. I didn't realise they were electric though as my old ones aren't. Does anyone know if it's possible to wire these up or is it too much hassle? I'm not too bothered really, just thought if it's there i might as well use it if i can. Wouldn't know where to start though.

Thanks for the advice, will give that a try. Do you sell any other spoilers? not too sure what to go for yet. I need the rear perspex strip aswell.

Cheers mate, i was gonna stick with the old one but will get a new one to save the hassle in the future. Seen some nice ones on Z Centre. Noticed a small leak on the glass roof aswell. Would new rubber seals sort that?

I don't know which is quicker. I've fitted the astra with an upgraded vxr turbo so its pretty quick when it kicks in. The paint on the rear spoiler on the zed has bubbled quite alot, so would it be better to buy a new one?

I mite try to get to that meet, won't be in the zed but would be gud to get some advice on the cars & meet everyone
