  1. when i get another zed i will do  tonyt1965 is the new owner of mine at the min.....though im hoping to be zedding sooon!!!!
  2. http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW/CARS_popup.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=NISSAN&model=300+ZX&variant=turbo&keywords=&min_pr=75&max_pr=&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=yo11+3bn&miles=200&max_records=50&source=0&photo=1&sort=3&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH&start=1&distance=194&adcategory=CARS&channel=CARS&id=200604222944299 im taking it it wont be a minter but even so. when i got mine 3 yrs ago it was the cheapest one i saw by some way at 4k. wheres the justice in the world??? :headvswal
  3. i got mine converted by zedworld and didnt have any problems with it..................suppose the biggest problem was trying to get the grin of my face!!   would agree with other posts though, that the auto is "slightly" (emphasis on the word slightly) faster in mid range. the manual was definatly quicker off the mark IMO though, and i think you have better control (and more fun) with the manual. HTH, gaz
  4. i had this same problem once........but not on the zed, it was my calibra. the bung that should of been in a hole in the boot pillar wasnt there, so rain water was running into it and then in to the rear footwell. just an idea!
  5. i like it alot!
  6. hey, thats my car................or it was!!!!
  7. had the internals of the cats removed at a local garage for £60. sounded and worked good. not sure its the "right" way to do it but i didnt have any probs.
  8. my zed was a jap import so the ariel didnt just slot in as they are a different fitting (2 prongs instead of 1 ). all i did was "cut off" the outer prong (think it was the smaller of the 2) as this isnt needed, and then the remaining prong pushed into the ariel socket..........i know it sounds bodged but it worked great! :D HTH - Gaz!
  9. still mad!!! :D and i'll hold you to this! :hyper: gaz.
  10. as above. was just surfing the net looking for interesting zed "stuff" and came across this. didnt know there was any limited edition versions in 1991 and 1995 known as the SMZ 300zx  ! cant find any pictures or much spec about it. has anyone got one of these? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_300ZX was trying to find some info on the version R 300zx..........dreaming this could be my next car!
  11. if i had the funds to get started i would definatly build my own place. like paul stevens ive done (and sometimes still do) windows/doors/conservatories installing, my dads a time served joiner of 30 yrs and i got alot of friends who are in the building trade. i did look into it, but my bank would only provide 2/3rds of the money needed.........unless i robbed a bank i would struggle to get the other 1/3rd myself. a friend of mine has just done this, and i know he is very happy with his results. it took him 14mnths to build his 5 bedroom detached house in the country (trying to make it sound "posh" ;) ), he lived in a rented 4 bedroomed house with his wife and 5 kids for the 14mnths, and the grand total to build his house and rent for the other place was IIRC £150k (ish). the house he has built is worth about £275k (ish). thing to do is sit down and look at it realistically.if you can afford to do it,and you also have the know how and time, then i would go for it.
  12. really sorry to read this, my thoughts are with you :(
  13. havent read all the posts so apologies if someone covered this....... i had an experience with a garage who sold me my zed "sold as seen". i had driven the car myself and wasnt aware of any faults. however within a couple of weeks it was obvious there were some major faults. i didnt think there was anything i could do because my receipt said "sold as seen". but due to the extent of my probs i was told to ring trading standards. their reply was it is illegal to put on a receipt sold as seen, as this is "restricting the buyers rights". what did need to be established was whether or not the car was in a roadworthy condition at the time of sale, and that i hadnt/had been misrepresented the vehicle at the time of purchase. from what you say the buyer was fully aware of the faults himself, so hasnt been misold the car, and the faults certainly arent faults that would deem the car unroadworthy. sounds to me hes just trying it on. i wouldnt part with any money unless a court instructs you to (which i dont think will happen). HTH-gaz!
  14. not sure about normal shampoo??? something i didnt know untill recently (dont tell me off everyone if i should of known this :o ), but you shouldnt use washing up liquid to clean your car, as i did cos id run out of wash n wax :slap: , because it has some corrosive effect on metal. IIRC im sure i was told it had salt in it, and its this that does the damage.
  15. has he thought of the calibra v6. i had this before the zed (and i know the guy who got it off me hasnt spent much on it in 3 yrs). i thought it sounded good, IMO they look good in the right colour (not that sick turquoise/green/bogey color), i had a dark metallic green with black leather, and they go ok (slow against a zed but even so!). no 4x4 to worry about breaking as this is supposed to be common on them, and of course no turbo probs. IIRC the v6 calibra isnt supposed to be far behind the turbo anyway. HTH - gaz!
  16. seen a maclaren f1 at a car show, very nice car!
  17. just to clarify, as i aint any mechanic, is the det sensor located down in the "v" of the engine? im sure mine melted when the headgasket blew, so rather then ripping the engine to bits it was just relocated somewhere else (obviously replaced aswell as relocated as original had melted). the car was running in safety mode when i got it due to this sensor being knackered, however when it was relocated it did seem to run ALOT better. i take it you dont think this is a good thing to do then?
  18. £75.............oh dear! :( :o quote=bird So you only paid £90 for them to replace and move it or just to relocate it after it was fixed? quote bird, i bought a new sensor which was then replaced into a different area of the engine bay (make sense???)
  19. same here?
  20. had my cats removed for £60 paid £350 for ecu and boost upgrade at zedworld (using boost jets) not sure on the 60k service det sensor. GET THIS DONE FIRST! why get the other stuff done if your det sensor is knackered? zedworld "relocated" my det sensor to an easier place to access (rather than in the middle of the engine). i think i paid £90 plus the cost of the sensor. hope this helps - gaz
  21. so you all like the look of the citreon then???
  22. as you all know i sold the zed to tonyt1965. so ive got myself a cheaper car untill i can afford another! the new car is a 1993 325 sei bmw. its got full black leather ,17inch bmw motorsport alloys, 110k on the clock, dark metallic green and 197BHP!!!! everyone keeps saying "that must shift being a 2.5 6 cylinder"........no its not its rubbish compared to the zed!!!!! (breath gaz)....ive only paid £1300 for it which i think is an absolute bargain though! anyway, been looking at some bmw car club sites and TBH they dont even come close to this site. you look at the posts people have put on and some have taken days/weeks to get answered. some dont even get a reply! and the for sale sections are quite frankly useless! gotta admit you guys are good!
  23. totally agree with johndps. i tried to sell my car in the autotrader and ebay a few times and got no where.........it was my £20 members fee on here that let me advertise the car on here and this is where it sold! in my opinion, deffo worth £20 to subscribe.
  24. if i had a zed i might consider it tonyt1965! ;)
