  8. Your car is looking very nice Peter. We seem to have the same tastes in mods as well as other things. I have mirrors similar to that waiting for some paint. the bumper is great and the colour looks very nice. I cant wait to get mine back. Although I have painted it myself so the finish wont be as nice as yours it will hopefully be acceptable. Well done bruv. :D
  9. cheers bud. i work within the railway industry so no chance of being my own boss short of being self employed and both jobs are that.
  10. Someone needs to lower the tone mate :rofl:
  11. Well I must admit I am very grateful for your input all of you. Those words Rich' are the exact way I have been feeling for the last 5 months or so. They explain the way my life seems to have gone.Thats why the change is imminent. My boss wont see it because he cant see beyond the profit. OK thats why he does what he does but use and abuse along the way just dont work for me. i would like to say though that niether of the new jobs are as near stressful as my present job. the choice would be easy otherwise. £1200 or £800 pw. see. not easy is it?
  12. not sure they would go for that but might be worth a try? :D
  13. if i see or hear anything bud i will PM you ASAP. that isnt a million miles from bedford.

  17. Thanks for considering me. I will do my best to help the club progress. Please bear with me while I learn the ropes?
  18. both are better than the job i have now. both are very well paid.
  19. I like mig but love arc welding. Gas is a lot harder but by far the best and most satisfying. IMO> :D TIG is even better. :)
  20. Currently I am not happy with my company that I work for. I cant specifically put my finger on one thing but there are lots of little things that are going on that make me feel unsettled. I have been offered 2 other positions both in the same line of work but with differences to my existing situation. 1/. very good money but will have to work 6 shifts a week without a break for 6 weeks at a time. Then if another opperative is off sick or holidays I will have to cover them. So potentially 13 weeks with out a break. The work is well below my skills level and so I will have no problems there. 2/. about 2/3'rds of the above (take home) just 5 shifts a week I can take as much time off as needed (obviously without pay) the work is a bit more local to home and a lot more interesting and more to my skill level. My dilemma is: OK the first is much better pay but far far more less interesting and involves a fair bit more travelling and the amount of work I will have to committ to and there isnt any getting out of it by taking days off. Both are nights. The second job is slightly more pay than I am on now. So do I chase the pound and go for the better pay or take the less pay and do the more interesting job. I ask because I am really in two minds at the moment. I want to go for the money but something is nagging me not to. What would you do?
  21. All the best bud. Good for you and I hope it all works out fantastic.
  22. I was told by a good source this: going by whatever your engine red lines at on the rev clock and using that proportion below the red line: For the first 500 miles more or less no more than a quarter of the revs; For the next 500 miles more or less no more than half of the revs: Then the engine should be run in OK. It shouldn't take much over 1000 miles to run in.
  23. Good idea Steve. But if you ever find yourself needing to weld your car then its not going to be new metal so getting thrown in at the deep end is sometimes the better way to go. :D Are you going to mig arc or gas weld?
  24. BTW. I dont know if its a fact but............be careful with galvanised stuff because I have been told the fumes are vapourised cyanide???
  25. Fook me. Thats bloody excellent mate. Its going to be like that program with charlie dimock and the crew when she gets home:)
