Hi, Sorry to start this off again :wack: , looked in search but some threads are 2 year old now! Basically engine out and done all the usuall and cant decide to leave it or rip it out!?!? So from wot i read it is advised to get ur car chipped to help prevent dett after removal, and how would it affect the emissions in the MOT? Will admit from removin this and the turbo bypass it deffo cleans up the back of the engine? So wot ur thoughts folks!

Mine isnt actually leakin from the bell housing but now thats its off the inside is thick with oily soot, as if the dust off the clutch has mixed with oil!

Hi all, Have my gearbox off and the inside of the bell housing is covered in sooty oil i can understand the soot due to the clutch but why is it all oily, could this be due the rear main seal!?! What are signs of a failed seal? Cheers.

Hi all wise and knowledgeable ones!!!!!!!!!! Diff one to explain have my engine out to do tubbs! ( Gettin ready for Japfest) and others things while its out, was fittin my PCV valves and the old ones are all clogged up with like a brown colour, almost looks like water and oil has got into them, i know they go but not sure wot they look like when they do. Also my throttle bodies have oil inside the rim and the EGR exhaust gas pipes at the top when u have the plenum off are all blocked up with mucky oil, when i took of the outlet pipe next to the compressor wheel there was oil lyin on the rim as if oil was leakin from that side as well as the turbine side of the turbo, is this possible?!! If anyone can give me any light on the above id be well chuffed, im learnin as i go so sorry if the above doesnt make sense on what am actually tryin to say!! Cheers!! :)

HI, LETS PLAY BAMBOOZLE!! 1. :duffer: What is the name for the tubbs off an import i know the UKs are Garretts 2. :duffer: Are they ceramic or steel turbines? 3. :duffer: What sort of upgrade kits are available for them 4. :duffer: Recommended max PSI to run them on? If someone answers all 4 questions ill buy them 4 pints when i'am over at JAPFEST, can't wait!! :)

Unless it was comin from further up and just seemed to be from the cats!! Not good.

Evenin all!! Had my car out today, and she was idlein for bout 10 min and i seen smoke comin from the cats, it was strange cause they seemed to dump smoke every 10 seconds or so as if they were buildin up with pressure, but yet no smoke was comin out of the rear pair! I have de-cats to go in her but my rear seals are not excactly factory spec anymore :( and was afraid if i put the de-cats in i would blow the seals completly!! Any idea why this is? Or is it simply the cats are justed choked up!! Cheers :)

Goin 2 japfest this year missed the last one :( and me rear seals are well on there way and i would rather go minty fresh than a 90 year old chain smoker and those threads would really help, someone must de able restore them, would make a very happy club member :) :) :)

Hello Gentlemen!! NEED SOME HELP!! My window wipers, air con, electric mirrors wont move or fold in and worst of all the clock as stoped tickin!! :( Checked fuses under dash all seemed ok, but couldnt c any fuses or relays referring to the above problems in the engine bay!! Any idea wot else to check cause its startin to get fookin cold with no heaters!! Oh and shes a SWB TT if thats any help as i know theres diff between UK+JAP!! Cheers.

Hi guys, Got a rather big stone flicked at my front windscreen of me zed the other day and was wantin 2 know is there any diff between the SWB and the 2+2? If so any ideas where 2 get a SWB Front windscreen, hopefully not 2 expensive :( !! Cheers!!
