I'm sure that the low prices have come about because buyers are so shit scared of buying a lemon that will cost a fortune to put right. As our cars get older, this fear is becoming more of an issue. I had this - rattle on startup that went when warmed up. As said above, it was a disintegrating exhaust heat shield... Steve :)

I've had some great results with it - sponge does get dirty quickly though! Don't see a problem with giving it a rinse when you're wiping the car down - the crucial stage it the final rinse IMO Steve :)

No it's a common problem with axle stands :( I always use a couple of blocks of wood on top of the stands so when the car is lowered onto them, they push into the wood making a nice secure base. Also saves damage to the underside of the car as well ;) Steve :)
