Same here, £1800 policy, (£500 excess) with adrian flux. Or... £150 policy, (£200 excess and breakdown cover) with sureterm direct.

Instrument cluster swap??
Ok, I've got a jap tt and had a faulty temp gauge. I've also got a rotten UK tt, so I took the full instrument cluster out of the UK car and swapped the clusters. The temp gauge is now fine but the speedometer is misbehaving. Presumably down to a kph to mph converter (although dont remember seeing one behind the cluster). If I remove the converter will the speedo work???

adrian flux
My adrian flux quote was £900, thats mods listed, but only 2000 mile a year!!!! So I'm now with sureterm direct, same details, but now only £170 and with breakdown cover (which is £45). Bit of a difference!!!!!! Does make you wonder why they dont use the same methods for quoting?????

Rear brake light???
Ok mate, thanks for the help. I think a search at the scrap yard is needed!! At least this explains why I've never seen one listed for sale on here or my "Z" search on ebay. :)

Any Zedders/Zed garages nr South London/Croydon?
I've just had a load of problems with spark plugs. Real easy to sort out. With the engine running unplug the coil packs, one by one and listen to see if the engine note changes. If the note changes as you unplug, both the coil pack and plug are good. If there is no change, then either the plug or coil pack are at fault. Then, presuming there is at least one cylinder at fault, turn the engine off and just swap the coilpack with a known good one (two 12mm bolts). Then start engine and check the two swapped cylinders again. If the faulty cylinder has moved, the problem lies in the coil pack. If it hasn't moved, most probably the plug. Coil packs 5 & 6 require you to remove the balance bar, again really easy. Just unbolt all visable bolts, remove the two pipes on the back and lift out. On my car (lwb jap tt) coil pack number 5 takes a little wiggle to get out, I think there is a pipe or some wiring in the way, but it will come out. As for running as it is, don't know if it will hurt engine, but I wouldn't do it!!!! Hope this helps mate.

Newbie pics (finally)
Thanks again for the comments. As for the deleted door handles, I thought they looked sweet. Until the battery died one day and I realised I couldn't get in!!!!! Luckily the boot catch was playing up and it wasn't properly shut (big sigh of relief). First job that day was to run a live and earth from the door catch actuators to two hidden points on the car so I could hook up a battery, if it ever happened again. Hey osti, yeah that sounds like me at the farm, meeting up would be cool. Mine only does maybe 500 miles a year at the moment as theres so many jobs on it I need to do!!

Newbie pics (finally)
Thanks everyone, I'm afraid I dont know what bumper it is. All the bodywork was done two owners back. To be honest its not that good!!! Quite a few places where the filler wasn't finished properly. But probably only noticable if you're really looking.

Newbie pics (finally)
Well, finally got chance to get outside, wash the Z, change the plugs and take it out for a quick blast!! All plugs looking in great condition, which was a pleasant surprise as everything else I decide to check is normally broken or faulty. Also took a couple of pics to show you all and so I can use one for my name pic thing, if I can figure out how to do it. Only took a few pics as its starting to rain and get dark. Also, no pics of interior as, other than the front seats, its all out!! I'm trying to recover in white leather bit by bit. However, I'm currently renovating the new house my family have moved too, so short on time and lack of shed doesn't help!! Anyway, (if this works) here we go.....
