  10. My brother has served similar time to you but he's been taught that any contamination of any belt and it should be replaced. however, he has worked for company that own a fleet of vehicles and are not a public facing facility so therefore profit and time isnt a factor. I am not saying you are wrong.
  11. Congrats Jas! :duffer:
  12. You know that for certain then do you?
  13. I agree here. you do not have to remove the cambelt. but removing the pump will contaminated the belt with coolant. what we are saying is to be 100% certain, change the belt while you are there for the sake of £40. Its a precautionary measure passed down from many a cambelt changer from 300zx.co.uk history.
  14. an hour and a half from start to finish for a water pump? do you own a garage? what is your hourly charge, i wanna book a Z in! :D
  15. i change the oil, filters and coolant every 3000/4000 miles. depends on what you class as a major service.
  16. you will need to drain some if not all of your coolant system so some anti freeze wouldnt be a bad idea :D
  17. exactly!! You need to remove the crank pulley and lower cambelt covers to get to the water pump. Also when removing the pump will contaminate the current belt with coolant so you may as well change it while your there. I did!
  18. Same here. my water pump gave out last month, approx 18 months after doing the cambelt
  19. and this one http://www.galleryoffluidmechanics.com/conden/f14.mpeg
  20. I only drive it in summer and i was unemployed for 2 years so I stored it. But saying that I only do about 3 or 4 thousand miles per year in it. But those are full on, foot to the floor miles
  21. Ive always been told that if there is any doubt about the cambelt then just change it. If I was you, I would just get it done so you have the peace of mind. Mines only done 11,000 miles since 2001  when i bought it
