i always thought "sports car" came from the early days with cars like the morgans, austins the MG's etc etc. 2 seaters normally convertibles no real driver aids. moden ones being mx5, mr2 to a certain extent and the good old caterhams. real drivers cars i feel are sports cars none of this air con rubbish as they come under GT's

come on guys how can you lot not like british cars???? maybe not the best now but we have made some awsome cars. E type jag, pretty much all aston martins, jag xj220, lotus, tvr, austin healy, mclaren, bently, rolls royce and of coarse dont forget the only one still going the good old robin :lol: The question is if you won the lottery whats the first car you would go and buy? mine would be an aston martin followed by an e type not a nice reliable hatchback!

thanks i will look into these. has anybody heard of Garage Assistant GA3? i was having reading through it seems the kind of thing im looking for i think. I would like something that people know and use if poss.

As a family we have a small MOT & repair workshop which im looking to computerise but i dont know what is the best system to use for doing invoices and reminders etc etc. We currantly have no system in place as the garage is a behind the times some what, but we are in the valleys so most things are :lol:. im after a system to be able to print invoice's for customers and also make my tax returns easier. Any suggestions would be great. thanks in advance

he is a really nice bloke! i see him when i was picking people up from Ascot. He pulled into a petrol station in his ferrari f40 and was chatting to people and seemed like a nice guy. mind you if i had the money he had plus the dolly bird he had in the passenger seat id be happy all the time too!!

yep as above its only illegal if the selling knows its been clocked and does not tell the buyer but with mot's being compterised now its easy to find if a car has been clocked as it should be recorded with the ministry

i watched a programme on this before, funny enough when i could't sleep. They took an insomnic and put him on a strict routine. They gave him a bed time and a wake up time. i think it was like 12pm bed and up at 6am. He was told to go to bed regardless if he was tired or not and to not have any distractions such as laptops and tv's etc and not to leave his bedroom. And regardless of how many hours sleep he had he had to be up at 6am and then do a full day and not sleep untill 12 pm the following night. i think the idea was to tire him out and force his body to need sleep. After a few weeks he went from about an hours sleep to close on 4 and eventually they got him having a full 7 hours sleep. i think routine helps i work really stupid hours and i find it hard to sleep but i do find going to bed and not sitting on the sofa helps even when i dont feel tired if that makes sense. hope you get it sorted"

yeah i did have code 34 a while ago and when i checked the wirring it had been by passed and both plugs had been cut off so i re wired it and code 34 cleared and has not come on since and didnt show when i had it on a conzult a couple of months ago! im planning on changing the plenum and doing a water by pass soon and i was going to put a new det sensor and new plug in at the time as the egr has been removed and i belive i can get to it. i have tried some boost jets and i get a little over 0.5 just about 0.6 bar now but it slowly drops back to 0.5 under hard accerlation????? does this mean anything to anyone!

your probably not wrong!! i need new tyres on the rear anyway! and actually no i have not reset the ecu i will do this this morning and see how i get on! failing this if i was to put boost jets in and i still only get 0.5 bar boost would this tell me its def in safty mode?

following on from my recent post im still only getting 0.5 bar boost. I got a leak tester off anthonyd (:thumbup:) and i managed to find 1 loose jubile clip which i have now sorted. however im still only getting 0.5 bar?????????? So in short i have no boost leaks, no error codes (with and without turning ignition off), greddy boost gauge and still only have 0.5 bar? could it be weak actuators? or could the turbos been turned down by previous owner??? thanks for your help

no i wouldn't be looking to buy new! i would get a secound hand one as ive been told there pretty bomb proof. that your shop?

drifting a drift car on a trailer! could be a new sport! I still dont see how speeding up helps. when it happened to me i just let off everything and allowed it to settle its self then carried on at a slower speed.

mines the same! there is an oil that was recommended to me but i cant remember what its called. some people on here have used it and have has some success with in the past, im sure someone knows the stuff its only sold in litre bottles. rt90 or something like that. I just learn to live with mine as i cant really afford a gearbox rebuild at the mo and there i would of thought most secound hand gearbox will be the same

ok cool ill have to see what im working as my boss is away from saturday onwards so im on my own! i think i should be able to come up sunday if not ill do what i done before and try to tie it in with a bristol or cardiff job

Well i done a ecucheak without turning off the ignition and still code 55 so im guessing its a boost leak somewhere

yeah i have ordered a leak tester from anthonyd so as soon as i get it i will be testing for leaks but i thought i would have running problems with a boost leak no? Is it only code 34 that will put the car in safety mode? I did have code 34 a while back and i found that the det senor plug was gone on both det sensor and wireing loom. I re done the wiring best i could and code 34 cleared but thinking about i dont think my car has ever boosted as well as it should be! can det sensor be changed with plenum off and no egr valve?

ok will do i have had the battery disconnected for over an hour and still no better i will try doing it with out switching car off and report back. How can i test the boost solenoids?

Ok thanks anthonyd let me know when you have them and ill pick them up when your about. And i did have a goose honk noise up to about 3pm yesterday when i took rec off and replaced with baily dump valves but i still had low boost before and after. Ecu does say code 55.

well im doing an ecu test today but im pretty sure im code 55 any ideas what it could be im guessing boost leak somewhere?

hay mark i have a thunder tiger sledgehammer truck which im stuggling to het to run tiddy. have you got any tips on tunning the engine so it idles and doesn't cut out all the time? thanks

I have fitted my greddy boost gauge today and im only getting 0.5 bar of boost which i belive is low? its a standard manual tt with only an apexi filter, egr, aiv, prvp, carbon canister all removed and cat back system. What should i be getting (is 0.7/8 about right) and what would be the reason im not getting full boost?
