So having just stripped out everything aircon related would I get any benefit from replacing the aux fan,ie is it used when the engine is hot or is it used for aircon only?

Ok thanks for that guys,am I right in thinking that I need the thickness of two plates at the bottom and one at the top? if this is the case then I can use the auto top and the two bottom halves that come with the convertion kit.

HI All. Just been out trying to sort out the rear engine plates that came with the auto/ manual convertion kit but it seems I have two bottom halves. Having never had a manual I have no idea whats going on,eg is there meant to be a top half? or can I use the top half of the auto? I dont seem to be able to find a picture anywhere.

Thank you all once again for the support and advice,keep your fingers crossed for me, from what I can make out there is a good chance I may keep my licence but who knows ,I suppose it depends partly on how many similar cases the beak has had that day and whether or not they got their oats the night before. But seriously I would like to make a few things clear to the people who think 112 is a really terrible thing to do,firstly I am a professonal driver with 20 years experence and a clean licence,believe it or not driving a truck is very similar to driving a fast car mainly because it takes so long to stop which is why I am thinking 1 mile ahead and with total concentration. The road was empty ,it was 12.30 at night and dry,but the main thing is THERE WAS NO VICTIM so how can I be a criminal,why should I loose everything for a crime with no victim when the real crims who had victims get a slap on the wrist.The law is an ass and I am not sorry so there. By the way dewi that wasnt westlife I was playing in the truck it was a track called F**k the law Its just therapy.

Oh well I suppose I am gonna get time to do the engine swap,manual convertion,chip and boost controller ,s**t there I go again.

I may have been doing 99.96 if me speedo had been working,it was a lazer I couldnt deny it,they even took it up the road to test the speedo and had to agree the car is in a1 condition then said they were doing me for a defective speedo as well oooooo

Hi All. oh s**t ,went past a plain cop car with a night time lazer last night at 112mph ,lucky it wasnt 2 miles earlier but anyway,I,m nicked,when pc bad attitude had finished his hypocritical little lecture he informs me I,m not getting a fixed penalty but am going to court and will get banned. In my defence I showed him my speedo has just bust,it was a totaly empty dual carrageway at 12.30 at night and if I loose my licence as a hgv driver I will loose my job,did it help,NO. What do you think licence lost or not,with a brief and lots of pleading?

From what I can make out if I keep my foot nailed to the floor it holds boost thru changes.

Thanks for the replys guys,I really didnt want to sacrifice the front panel so I tried wedging to bonnet on the offside,gave me a few mm then with a piece of heavy gauge mig wire,hooked on the end wth a bend about 5 inches from the end,fed it round the back of the catch ,tried hooking the right leaver to open it,took about 10 minutes then hey presto it poped open . It turns out the cable had jumped out of its slot in the lever so I put it back and with a grip wrench squeezed the slot together so it cant happen again. The moral of the story is, click the bonnet shut gently not let it go at about a foot open and slam shut,whick flicks the nipple out of its slot. Ok. panic over thanks again guys

Went to open my bonnet this morning and the soddin cable snapped At the moment I cant find a way to open it,I put the stock airbox back on for winter so I cant get to it from below,any ideas anyone?
