  9. I spent the day with a company not far from me, who soda blasted my wheels, ready for me to repaint them. They did a few other things I wanted to see being done too, mainly aluminium panels
  10. Front and rear strut braces, unknown make, both in good condition but the towers on the front one could do with a coat of paint, the rear is good as it sits covered up inside. £50 each posted or if you take them both will do a better deal.
  11. FOR SALE 300zx N/A SWB Auto 1989 . This is a project that i'm not going to get started never mind finish. Can be sold as one or if enough interest will break. Runs and drives but engine sounds a bit rattly so needs replacement. Only one area of rot as in pic, this has been on Lee Dent 's ramp and is solid underneath. I Have a spare door in silver for it and also an unfinished tailgate with fibreglass lip bonded on. Good tyres on 18" wheels, cobra remote alarm fitted and working, pretty well everything is there but I have loads of parts in my sheds if its not. Located at Corwen North Wales, if anyone is serious about buying I could sort out delivery for fuel costs. £650
  12. Your paint coverage looks ok from the pics, but do not use anything less than 2000 grit wet and dry, cellulose is not as forgiving or as thick as 2k paint. Use a rubber block with plenty of soap and water to flat out the runs, if you have to, from a bucket, but preferably use a plastic spray bottle with a soapy solution in. The soap lubricates the paper so as not to drag across the paint and dig in, marking the paint. Follow the path of the run, not across it, using plenty of water and check it regularly.
  13. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with celly paint, what do you think we used before 2k came along?? If you have marks still coming through its because you have not got the coverage, you can go as low as p400. . You should use a top grade slow thinner too, if the solvent dries too fast you can lose the gloss finish, and theres no need to lacquer. How much paint did you use? A Z should use approx 7.5 litres to cover effectively. 2k paint is denser than celly and covers easier, so uses a lot less less. Flatting would be with a G7 compound followed by T-Cut polish with a machine to give the final effect.
  14. Its that time of year again, and I have been asked if we are doing another fireworks/bbq. As most of the Northwest/Wales members know, I have been really busy of late converting my new garage space and now its nearly there, I can slow down abit. So for the ones who have been to the previous eventful evenings, its the same as, if however you are new, (anyone is welcome by the way), its is usually a late afternoon/early evening BBQ, followed by a fireworks display. You dont need a Z, all the family is welcome and it is an opportunity to meet and chat to new and old members. As it is November it is advised that you wrap up well or at least come prepared, our house is open doors, so even if you dont like fireworks/ feeling the cold etc you can at least shelter and watch the nutters that stay outside. Postcode is LL21 0NL and if you get lost again (TOM) I will post my number nearer the time for those who dont have it. Keith
