  1. oh dear, i was unaware i had to be, i want to subscribe but i got laid off yesterday, so,maybe friday when i get my redundancy :) alot of people have commented on it being well worth subscription. well in the 14 months ive only had 1 fault reoccur and that was on a 60gb ps3, i found the problem to be the thermal paste used, poor quality. since i changed to high quality artic silver, no problems, but i know adding the uprated fan, and or using auxillary, will cure the problem.for good. hoping it wont get closed, but if it does,ill try put same again when ive subscribed. thanks guys.
  2. BTW so far ive had i 100% success rate, but in the unlikely event of failure,all will be refunded and re- repaired of required.
  3. hard to say really mate, it could need, Re-balling if it has suffered a complete meltdown, or it could need re-flowing,which in my experience is 9/10 the case.also the clamps that support the processors cause unnecessary strain on the board under high temperatures so the will need to be replace with independent nylon supports. price wise,usually i charge 35 for a standard RROD repair, but thats local without P+P. for fellow Z club members, the price of parts and postage, so most likely cost roughly 10pound postage,parts cost me 4pound in most cases, then postage return so id estimate 23quid-ish but if theres enough interest i will definatly look into exact prices for the postage ETC, if custom mods are required then the parts are bit more, for example for a new set of fans that prevent the red ring coming back 70% more than stock, also with the choice of LED glow from rear of console, it would be an extra 15pound, i can also use the redundant stock fans as auxillary with small switch for another 5, these prices are just what it cost me,i dont require labour costs for fellow Z owners.
  4. hey guys, ive been doing extensive repairs on these consoles as a side hobby/job around my local area for about 14 months now, thought id extend it to you guys :) the ''FAT'' ps3s are getting old now and are starting to malfunction, for example, the Yellow Light Of Death,disc read errors,problems loading or ejecting disc, just as the xbox 360's have the red ring of death and similar disc drive issues, im sure a few of you are keen gamers, just thought id offer this service, i can also customise xbox 360 consoles and controllers, i can change all the lights on the controller,console, add new fans to prevent re occuring red ring for life, rapid fire into both platforms controllers, great for call of duty. if any1 is interested please let me know. thanks guys.:)
  5. ok, im going to try it tonight, when im taking the ecu out, am i taking the zinc plated bracket off? the 3 10mm screws? the pull out harness connector and put the black lead on pin 50 and red on 23, just so im straight so i dont get frustrated lol. super thanks to lee dent :)
  6. yea im pretty sure, dett side disappers down between to the block,the wires on the sensor side used to hav a choc block on, but i soldered them thinking it would solve the prob,didnt, im gona do a resistance test on the harness, any tips on this? thanks guys
  7. hey guys,ive bin running in safety mode since a bought my Z 3wks ago,got a resistor today, 1megaohm,put it in the dett sensor plug,just like commenly done, used my ECU talk to clear codes and read them. i ran the engine, already at temp coz jst got back from long trip. got the code 34, cleared it,shut down, put in resistor. started her back up,waited 30secs read the codes and it said unable to read codes due to some error,then something about a diesel ECU,lol, cleared that lol, tried afew more times,closed down ecu talk, started it agian, then got code 34 again!took it for a spin,still boosting low, now wat do i do lol, any help would be great,id like to fix it asap lol, also- i got a code 54, A/T comm, guessin thats to do with the EX auto box as its had a manual conversion. another thing is my ambient temp on the climate control think its in accurate lol,when it gets warmer, it says it like 2 degrees lol, no biggy but bit weird.

  11. hey guys. i changed my oil today so im happy, you get that new car feeling lol, gonna plug laptop in later and see if the knock sensor is still faulting, youd be shocked at this.... the wires on the ECU side of the knock sensor plug, the black one has a chock block in it! and the brownish colour one has a split in the insulation, i can see naked corroded wire!! me tinks thats why it throwing a code,it didnt throw it the other day when i read them of the dash.maybe bad software,ECUtalk.mite try reading it from the ECU led again.so its still in safety mode:sad:,gonna whip my soldering iron out lol.wrap it loads of tape. also, its probly me bein sceptical but i think my motor is knocking, but it could be lifter tick? is there anyway to define the two? if it is its goin on ebay:sad::mad2: lets hope not.
  12. hey, changed the oil, had to get the 10w40 semi synth, carlube,new filter, put some hard pipes on the intake too, need new radiator now coz the bead on the top hose connection has broke of, its holding but i dont trust it. thanks guys. sam

  14. hey guys just downloaded the ECUtalk software,basic but fairly useful, just bin for short drive noticed my o2 sensors lh and rh arnt the same all the time lol and ive got a code : 34= knock sensor (0 starts) what does this mean and what do i do now? faulty sensor maybe,weird because wen i checked the codes last time i only got the temperature sensor for the ECU, sorted that, now im getting knock sensor. but last time i used the blinking light method,:huh: hmm:confused1:

  17. hey guys, gonna do a oil change tomorrow, was wondering what would be the best oil to use for this time of year, cant get 10w30 fully synthetic anywhere! lol. halfords reckon the book says 10w30 and motormania reckon 5w30? lol im confused.
  18. hi,it was the temperatur sensor for the ECU, yellow plug, on the left of the two that are on the water pipe behind the fan. thanks mate. sam

UPDATE: cleaning that sensor last night has sorted the running problems, next on my list is: oil/filter change, find out why im still only getting 6psi, reset ECU again,check codes again. find out where the water in footwell is coming from, find out wat that hissing noise is when i shut down engine, sounds like top left side of engine bay,this could be my water leak although have noticed improvement in water pressure, change all the pads,tighten handbrake, change the front shocks.tyres. get it all checked over at zedworld, see if they know what that weird boing noise is, its coming from the back im sure. fit hard pipes and bailey BOV's that i have from the previous owner.then its time for the respray, im thinking gloss black with a crimson red metal flake in the laquer, i can do it at work so can have watever i want :)
  20. ahhh, thanks buddy. a nice brew calmed me down,got a fault code 13, cleaned the sensor. sorted issue,must order new sensor. just having intermitant power steering now lol. thanks again
  21. brake bleeding lol, just bin for a drive weathers terrible here, but good news, seems to have sorted the bogging, also new theory.. if theres no water for it to sense, would it malfunction, could be a good indicator of my water getting low.lol.not really funny. also before i reset the ecu, i was only getting 6psi wiv No fault codes after resetting the ecu got fault code 13,ECT, which would put it in safety boost mode? would i have to reset the ECU to put it in normal mode? or will it detect the fix.(temp fix) or should i star searching for boost leaks? thanks
  22. ok thanks guys, just wipd it out, fairly corroded terminals, had this on my old 325.pain in arse, something so small, can make it seem like you head has a big hole in it or sumin. wire brushed em, scraped with pik,put some solder flux on em, and washed em wiv vineger, hopefully this will help until i can get a new one in, would this also put the car in safety boost? thanks guys
