I thought it would have been cheaper than that. I read some where (can't remember where) that it was cheaper to convert to a manual than to rebuild. I was expecting low £1k's

Hello mate. Ill keep that in mind thanks. If the box is gone it will deffo be a manual conversion as for 1 its cheaper and 2 a manual is the better type of car. Anyone know how much a conversion actually costs?

Hello guys, ive just rang a transmission place to ask about my car, i advised of the symtoms etc. He said he thinks my autobox is burnt out and it'll almost definately need rebuilding. :cry: :cry: :cry: Not good, im going to take it through for themn to have a look in the morning so ill know for definate. Not happy if it is, luckily the guy i bought the car from is being a nice lad and said he'd help me out with the money side of things which is good of him (specially as im very very skint :x: ) well more of an update to come in the morning, what do you guys think?

Have done DIAGNOSTICS check on autobox, came back all fine. Should i still get it checked out by a transmision place in case theres a mechanical fault with it?
