  19. Back from the interview - it went really well, was a nice, relaxed, informal interview. They are seekng to recruit 12 people and they had almost 200 applicants so its good to have got shortlisted initially! Should find out on Thursday or early next week. I think that I am flexible about what hours I want and that I've worked in the hospital for years, in management as well as admin, will go in my favour, as I am familiar with the systems, hospital procedures, etc. I know from insider sources that the other candidates all came from nursing homes so I really hope my experience will give me the edge. If I don't get it, well I believe in fate, and I'll just stick in my current job til I start my training in September 2011 :punk:
  20. Its a done deal mate, I HATE snow and the cold weather!! Woohoo I'm off to sunny Spain!!
  21. My personal view is that no car improves or stays good for sitting undriven for long periods of time - things seize and break and perish due to lack of use. I think if you have a car then you should drive it (although I am taking mine off the road over the winter because the weather is just too bad in the North East of England for a rear wheel drive car in my opinion!) These cars are old, so they require much more maintenence and care than a brand new car, but many members on here do use their Zed as their daily driver and I think thats a good thing. If I could afford the fuel and didn't have to park somewhere where my paintwork would get damaged I would use my Zed every day! Drive the car - its not a museum piece!!!
  22. cheers everyone - just spoke to the sister on the ward here, who gave me lots of tips (she'd be my manager if I got the new job and it was her who gave me the voluntary shifts to help with my nursing application :whistling:) so with any luck I'll have the right answers and given that I already know the hospital systems well, that could go in my favour. fingers crossed!!
  23. Eh, how come? what's happened? Dammit, I wanted his Civic!!
  24. Got into work this morning to find an email inviting me! EEK! Wish me luck, its for a healthcare assistant's job - thought I'd try to do a year of something more patient centred in the year prior to going back to Uni to start nurse training. Watch this space....
