One of the reasons I won't ever have any more kids - and I have been sterilised! I cannot afford to have any more kids and don't think its right to expect anyone else to pay for that privelege for me. People have kids all to easily without any thought for the consequences of their actions, the costs and what they have to offer their children. I remember when I worked in Bristol, my friend helped deliver a baby to a woman who already had 5 kids, got sterilised, then met someone new, got IVF on the NHS and then had twins. All on benefits. Its not fair to expect other people to support this sort of thing. Grr

PX it mate, I will almost certainly have a new one by then and if you still need a daily driver you'll need it til you decide what you're doing. Ta tho

ITs not a pretty car but its cheap, mega reliable, low mileage, cheap taxand insurance, ticks all the boxes really - and leaves me a bit of savings should I feel the urge for something fun come the summer.....:innocent:

Thanks all. I pulled out and I am going to look at a Toyota Corolla later today, 3 roads from where I live, 1 owner, FSH, 68k, garaged - Marc's looked and said its a decent solid car. It'll do the job, its a Toyota. Its almost half the price of the Bora and Golf, its the 1.4vvti, so its mega cheap to tax, £250 fully com insurance with £150 total excess and protected no claims. Bit of a no brainer really. Ugly as sin in a 5 door but a nice bit of savings for me to put away for uni, take my girly on holiday etc next year. Head ruling heart for now. Yawn

No the Bora V5 wasn't cheap to run and it would've pissed me off to put that much in the tank for less performance than Zedward lol

For now I'm not buying anything. I think with 1ft of snow on the ground, shanks pony is the safest form of transport lol I have told the guy at the garage I'm not going to go ahead. So I lose my small deposit, but such is life. I think I rushed into that purchase and I felt undecided ever since so its clearly not the right car for me. If I could get a cheap 4x4 at the moment I think i'd do that, as the big freeze seems to be set in here! Will start car shopping in earnest when the weather is better and I have more time. I have the whole 2 weeks off school holidays this year, so I will drag little Tash round the car places with me to see if I can get some cute girl discount lol thanks for all the advice guys
