Interesting car here for sale
Its got uprated turbo's but he has no idea what they are lol Its in pretty good condition, paint could do with a good buffing up but noting a bit of elbow grease wont cure. I'd have had it if it was manual lol

misfire help needed
Might be a long shot, but my missfire was caused by a water leak under the plenum leaking onto my coilpack and shorting it out. Might be something to check. Just slide a long srewdriver down to your spark plug and see if theres any water on it when you pull it back out.

I'm off to see the wizards, the wonderful wizards of...
well i had a good morning at Zedworld. Turns out the missfire was caused by a water leak onto No3 coilpack causing it to short out. So new coilpack in place the missfire has gone for now :) Just need to go through my bank account to see if i can spare the money for the repairs before payday. Also met a couple of other members while i was there. sorry i didnt talk much, i'm a very quiet person by nature :blushing: Also when i got home i went to see a bloke i met yesturday with a Zed. Gave me 2 boost jets and a 2nd hand rad + fan for bugger all :D Top bloke  Bought a new fuel pipe to go from the fuel filter too, so gona get to work fitting that and the boost jets now :)

Zedworld!! Finally got round to booking the Zed in to get the missfire checked out. Turns out the 'free' diagnostic offer to members ended some time ago, but Jeff offered me 20mins free of charge, then the normal £30 p/hour after that. pretty excited really, like a little school kid again haha I'll let you all know how me and the zed get on. I'm hoping it wont be an expencive thing to put right, but knowing my luck (owned 2 weeks and already had a new clutch :( ) its gona be a biggy. Fingers crossed! Wish us luck! haha

Cleaning the engine.
I've got autoglym engine cleaner which has worked well for me in the past. But i've heard nothing but good tales of Gunk. If the autoglym doesnt perform i think i'll get mayself some Gunk

Cleaning the engine.
I think i'll take your advise and leave the jet washer in the garage and continue with the elbow grease. Could you tell me what the long pipe is on the back of the plenums? and is it safe to just unblot and remove for cleaning?

Cleaning the engine.
Trouble is i'm very unfamiliar with the engine so i'm nervous about taking things off incase i break something or lose bits. What is the long solid pipe at the back of the plenums, going from left to right? I could do with taking it off to clean underneath, doesnt look too difficult to do, but i dont know what its filled with, dont really want oil or petrol spilling all over the engine.

Cleaning the engine.
Here's a couple of pics to show what i'm dealing with. There isnt a single thing under the bonnet that isnt caked in sand

Cleaning the engine.
After years of living on the coast with the previous owner, my Zeds engine is looking pretty grimey and full of baked on sand and crap. I've managed to clean what i can using engine cleaner and elbow grease, but it still looks a state. I was thinking about getting the old jet wash on it, but i'm more than a little hesitant. Even with electrical connectors wrapped in film and protected from water i wouldnt feel 100% sure about it. Has anybody ever cleaned there engine this way? or any other tips or tricks?
