  1. not to hijack the thread but Id also like to say thanks to YEWCHECK for the black rear lights! nice one!
  2. 640x 480 is a perfectly useful resolution - those cameras that claim to be 2 mp clearly aren't! - it even says its only 640 x 480 in the text! I would trade resolution for a decent lens (close focus and decent depth of field) not least because the smaller the pixel, the less sensitive and we are using these in small dark places most of the time so sensitivity is important.
  3. Lol! Some people clearly have waaaaaay too much time on there hands ;)
  4. Right, so I had a smoky bank on the engine, and I eventually decided to pull it out and change my turbos. I had purchased a pair of " good" second hand tubs from eBay ( you can see where this is going?!) to fit. So 4 tubs on the bench and I'm trying to decide which if any I can use... They all have various amounts of end float ( in and out play) and up and down movement on the shaft ( they don't move so much as to cause the wheels to rub against the housings) So first question - what's the spec limits for play and is it possible to assess the " health" of the tubs - I'm thinking oils seal, bearings etc.... If they are all screwed, what are my options? I'm considering rebuilding them myself - and then getting them balanced or carefully marking the appropriate components so the balance is unaffected. What are the upgrade options - anyone got any (decent!) second hand ones?! Thanks! M
  5. Got the stainless pipes - really well packed and speedy shipping so thank you sir! M
  6. I have a spare alternator / trans harness for a manual brand new from z1 if your interested. Doesn't fit the auto and mine is a conversion to manual so no use to me - was about to return it but if it's of use to you let me know! M
  7. just google images it mate - and there she`ll be!
  8. Thanks Groover - appreciate the steer. If no-one pipes up, Ill get in touch with them. Cheers! M
  9. Thanks Jeff - sounds very interesting. My engine is already out and seperated from the box so a supply only price would be what im after. Lightened flywheel, 3 part clutch, and rear crank seal price inc delivery and lead time please. If the gear oil is specialist can you supply this also? What material is the flywheel made from, and whats the power rating of the flywheel / clutch please? Finally, Z1 seem to advocate changing the pivot for an uprated one - whats your advice on this please? Do you supply such a thing? many thanks! M
  10. thanks guys - decision made! will call Z1 now! M
  11. Im Looking to replace and uprate my flywheel and clutch whilst the engine is out. any suggestions of a UK source of decent parts? I have looked at the Z1 options which look interesting but the shipping and tax make this a pretty expensive (and potentially lengthy) option. any ideas? thanks! M
  12. Hi guys - I have a spare NA ecu that has a socketed EPROM, which i plan to fit a TT remap EPROM into. I have checked the PCB part numbers inside and they seem to be identical between the NA and TT boards, so i am rationalising that the only difference between the NA and TT is the EPROM which i wil be changing anyway. Is this correct or have i missed something?! Cheers M
  13. Good job on the rear lights! I have the same problem - may I ask how you fixed them?
  14. thanks Rob - but is it a valid approach to go for bigger than 555 now and then get the full benefit when i fit the bigger tubs (i do have a boost controll so will be running higher boost)? will it over fuel on standard tubs?
  15. i am intending to replace my wiring loom as the connectors are broken, green, and furry and I notice that Z1 sells a range of loom options, for different age cars. I am also thinking of replacing my injectors...so the dilema is which loom should i go for (i understand that the latter injectors have a different connector to the early ones) and whats the biggest injector that i should go for on (currently) stock tubs and engine? (I plan to go for a dual intake, z1 SMIC and uprated Z1 ecu chip now as well, and i hope to upgrade engine and tubs later....) any advice guys? M
  16. ah - loom = harness in american! :) - - - Updated - - - thanks!
  17. thanks Rob - maybe im being thick but i couldnt find it listed on there web page?!
  18. I need to bite the bullet and replace the majority of my engine bay connectors - they either have the dreaded corroded green pins or broken plastic outter housings / shells. Any advice on where to buy either the connetors or (preferably) the complete loom? thanks ! M
  19. email me mate on marknexus@hotmail.co.uk and we can sort out a deal!
