  1. Well, when mine failed i was told between 280 and 350 which i couldnt afford at the time so i got second hand one from a jap spares specialist called nippon spares i think there based in either birmingham or london for 120 it looked brand new and works fine(touch wood) :nelson: :nelson:
  2. i had an over fueling problem earlier on in the year it turned out to be the AFM. The ECU didnt detect the fault at first then started showing up after e few weeks, so i swopped the AFM and bingo! its been ok ever since.
  3. i had the same problem end of last year. sounds exectly the same but engine would flood after running for a while. eventually traced it to AN intermitantly working AFM. canged it and its been running fine since ....touch wood
  4. jeff and jamie were brilliant for me aswell, i must have got right on thier tits phoning them nearly every day for month trying to diagnose problem, they even spent a full day workin on car at short notice. eventualy finding it to be an intermintantly faulty AFM. big up to jeff and jamie
  5. dik-dak-do. not as expensive as i thought, still.... think ill pass for now and sort the looks out first. cheers mate
  6. fingers crossed then, ive got ages before ill need it doing (if ever). still wondering how much it would cost though, just out of intrest.
  7. i know wot u mean about the niggly things. maybe ill just upgrade parts as they break down. cheers thanks for the advice.
  8. Hi, im just wondering how much it costs to have your engine reconditioned and at how many miles you should think of having it done, its just im thinking of spending some cash on body mods(vielside kit, flip re-spray) but i want to make sure the cars allright mechanically first. its done about 75000miles so i dont think it necerseraly needs recon, im basically just priceing up all my options. any thoughts would be apreciated cheers
  9. looks like im gonna have to make the plunge and get a new AFM. I just thought id ask you guys first what with all the different codes and dodgy connections. cheers lads
  10. well it seems to start up ok and idle ok but its a bit rough when you rev it and wont go over 2500 revs it sounds as though you keep pressing and depressing throttle quickly... if you know what i mean the wierd thing was that when the AFM was working the car wouldnt idle very well then it would seem to flood but now the AFM isnt working it idles fine.
  11. is the aux fan the small electric one or the big belt driven one at the front of the engine bay. the only one thats always spinning is the large belt driven one. (sorry for sounding thick)
  12. Cheers I'll give them a go. I can also hear the fuel pump continousley, is this normal? as I've never noticed it before because I've usually got the stereo on. It primes itself as normal but the there's a quiet buzzing as the engine is running
  13. forgot to mention it had an unsteady idle for a while before probs started but then just went crap all of a sudden
  14. sorry, that would be a good idea, throttle position sensor, engine temp sensor
  15. Hi please help,my engine 'seems' to keep flooding. it idles very rough then eventually stalls. so i bought some new plugs took it for a drive and it ran fantastic, started it up next day... ...it was crap again. so then i had various split hoses changed, tuned up, and even another set of spark plugs, driving it home from garage it drove fantastic, gets in it next day... ...crap again. ive had various codes on ECU and by cleaning connections seem to have sorted them, the only one that still keeps cropping up is '12'(air flow meter) plus the car wont run above 2500revs "so it is the AFM" i hear you all cry... thing is when the AFM is NOT working car seems to idle fine (although its crap when reved). when it IS working thats when the engine seems to eventually flood and when i take the plugs out there as black as coal. im very close to torching the b@#@#rd thing (excuse my french). can anyone help restore my faith in my once trusty steed. cheers si p.s. can i take this opportunity to thank jeff and jamie at zedworld who have been fantastic helping me sort and elimenate problems over the phone cheers lads
  16. hi, can anyone tell me the easiest(and safest) way to hardwire a road angel in a Z32, as im starting to get a bit fed up of all the wires all over the dash any info will be apreciated. cheers

  19. i gave zed world a ring and they said there 95% sure its the 'fuel ECU' (i didnt relize it there was a separate ECU for the fuel) so im gonna order one (only £36) and see how i get on.ill let you know. if anyone has any tips on fitting one please feel free to let me know. cheers
  20. Hi i have a '90 manual twin turbo, about two weeks ago it started spluttering and missfireing while driving and when left to idle it eventually stalled. i did an ecu test and got a code 55(no faults) when not running and a 24(throttle valve full load) when running, up till yesterday it ran for about 2 minutes then cut out. ive tried it today just starts splutters then stalls and now im getting code 12(air flow metre curcuit) and 13(engine temp sensor circuit) i got a diagostic guy out and he was about as much use as a chocolate teapot. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!!
  21. Ive tried the cold water thing on the PTU but didnt help unfortunatly. the engines only running for about 2 mins or so now, then stalls im gonna get a diagnostics expert out to check it out. thanks for your comments, ill let you know how i get on
  22. cheers ill give it ago
  23. Hi, my '90 jap spec, TT has has started to rev really low (when idleing) to the piont of almost and sometimes stalling. i noticed a few months ago the revs were a little low but they went up when i put the de-mister on. but its got worse and is reving and spluttering at 500 revs till it stalls. it missfires when you rev the engine once its warmed up. ive done an ECU test and it gets a code 55(no fault) when the engines not running and a code 24(throttle valve full load) when running.i would really appreciate any advice anyone could give me. cheers SI-Z
