  1. I once read somewhere, that a sports car is defined as having a longer bonnet, than roof. Therefore a z most certainly is one. :tt2:
  2. We have 2 cats, and we took them to the cattery, as we were off on holiday. They are very slow cats; mournful howling at road legal speeds, I dread to think how they would be at 100!
  3. That is £450 or offers! Get in there with £350 and he might take it. If it was close I would buy it and break it.
  4. I remember when I bought my z, it had those dreadful Sunnys on it. I think the name derives from it being the only weather condition in which they work!
  5. I recently sold my z, and replaced it with an RX8. I love the wacky styling, although it is not for all tastes. I love the mad rotary engine, and the suicide doors, the car is bespoke, and as such like nothing else. Compared to the z, (I had a TT) it feels a little slow, and definately lacks the huge grunt of the z. But on the flipside, it is relatively modern, and cheap to buy, it sure sounds great, spinning up to 9000. You can get one around 04 reg for 4k with history. Go for the high output, 6 speed 231, to avoid a feeling of being 2nd best! Reliability does seem to be an issue, get a proper compression check done at a Mazda dealer (c£80), or at least check hot starting, (it should fire almost immediately), before parting with any readies. Lastly educate yourself about the woes of flooding before buying one.
  6. It was just pootling along in traffic, I could not hear it at all, and it is the first one I ever saw too.
  7. The blue colour looked like decals, I think they have tried to make it stealthy, but left the McLaren badge on it.
  8. Spotted this beastie today.
  9. Very nice choice. I got married 6 years ago, and used my own Supra as our wedding car.
  10. It took me 3 whole seconds of sound before I laughed out loud!
  11. All those pics bring back memories - I used to be a white van man, and travelled many of those roads regularly. Think I might revisit, it looks great, although no more the roar of a z for me, its the howl of an RX8! :thumbup1:
  12. Gunmetal, apart from Yassas red one, quite a few tasty ones in yellow, and a well kept black one. Did I say I like white also?
  13. Those seats have certainly sold it for me.
  14. I became the victim of this today. Many thanks for the advice, as I have just found the remedy. It was in the fridge all the time!
  15. I have had many ordinary cars leading up to my Jap fetish, which reads; Toyota Supra Mk3 n/a Aerotop Mazda MX6, seems pretty yuk now Toyota Supra Mk4 n/a Lexus Soarer TT Another Supra Mk3 turbo this time. Mazda RX8 231 Mitsubishi Legnum VR4 TT Nissan 300zx TT UK Manual Another Mazda RX8 231 Watch this space for my next toy Nissan R35 GTR, only about 40k short at the moment.
  16. I bought this on Sunday, thinly veiled as a valentines gift!
  17. I did one of those gift voucher experiences in one. It was simply superb. I was fortunate enough that the instructor allowed me to have a bit of a play with it. Very balanced, very sharp to turn, even on a wet track. A huge grin factor. I was so impressed I am constantly watching used prices tumbling, until the time I can get one. Roll on 25k
  18. You must be gutted to drive all that way to see an undisclosed shed. A few years ago I drove down to a dealers in Southampton to collect an IS200 Lexus. It looked good on the advert, and I spoke to the dealer numerous times. I was on the understanding that the low price was a reflection of the high miles. So I insured it, and paid a deposit, then drove down there to find a car without a straight panel on it. What a mess it was, I could have punched him I was that p*ssed.
  19. Welcome to the club, Bill, and I hope the old girl gives you as many smiles as it gave me.
  20. My Missus had a bit of "a moment", I call it a tank slapper, in the z. I did offer to try and teach her how to control powerslides, but she just is not interested, and is now very reluctant to drive it in anything but dry conditions. This generally suits me, but she has pursuaded me to put it up for sale, and get a car with traction control. The moral of this story is that a z is very much a personal choice, and therefore not for sharing!
  21. Welcome. Have a look at mine in the For Sale section here, now at only £1795.
  22. Hi and welcome to the club, Pete. Have a look at my one in the for sale section here. It is cheap as chips, just need the sills welding for the next MOT. And localish to you.
  23. Cheers for that, and please feel free to share your observations in my "for sale" thread.
  24. Have a look at this one, it is now for sale at a lot less than this advertised price, as the sills will need welding for its next MOT. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2326492.htm
