Think you are being a bit harsh on the old 'Hot Hatches' here boys. My first fast car was a 106 GTi and it was extremely underestimated in terms of handling and poise. My next car was another boyracer favourite, a Mk3 Golf VR6. But I slapped a Supercharger on the side of the block and it pretty much decimated all. I used to race on an industrial estate called hams hall which was basically an oval based on a dual carraige way with an island each end with the straights around 500m each. I destroyed a couple of Zeds in my 106 in that environment (I don't know what they'd got under the bonnet) so I wouldn't be too harsh.. Now if it was a Nova.. (look out for my mate's 300bhp Turbo conversion around the Walsall area)

I know the 'Motortech boys' from the Midlands Racing Scene, they know their stuff in terms of Jap cars, and they've all got minted Preludes, Supras and Civics. I also know they drive em like they stole em. So they have the knowledge, but some serious driving skills.. Better off going to Jeff @ ZedWorld.

ok.. so.. What is a boost spike? :confused: Sorry guys.. my only experience of forced induction is Supercharging I'm afraid. How would an aftermarket gauge help?

Do you have a link for the leak detector? Also.. should I be worrying about spikes when I'm running a chip? If my car is running 12psi, what would the stock gauge be doing? (I know it's not accurate) Cheers!

Hi All. Bit concerned at what can only be described as a 'hissing sound' when I put my foot on the gas. Also.. I'm running a chip and 12psi boost jets, but when I give it some, my standard gauge only registers at around 6psi! Even on the orginal gauge surely 12psi should be pushing the needle off the clock? Help!

Thought it was me for a moment, but I was Southbound well before 6.30!!

Maybe we should arrange a future Mids Meet there soon? Black is probably worth the effort you are right.. but I'm a bloody lazy sod, so white it is!

At the start I wasn't overly keen on white to be honest, but when I actually saw the car in the flesh I just fell in love! Best thing is.. it's sooooooo easy to clean! My last three cars were black and were just a f00kin nightmare!

Most people with big cars cruise at 100mph these days. Ridiculous! I'm glad he got away with it, much that I'm not a great fan of the traffic police. At the end of the day, if I was him, with a new toy, I'd have probably done the same!

Hi All. Just joined up properly so I thought I'd introduce myself.. My name is Adam, I'm 25 and from Walsall in the West Midlands. My car is a 1992 TT Import in Pearl White with a Bomex front end. Not sure about the side skirts.. The car has a Revision 2 full leather interior. I'm currently running a chip with boost jets, everything else is standard. You'd be lucky if it gave you 10hp anyway. The cost on the linked site is coniderably more than the e-bay link, because the 'supercharger' comes with all the bits to wire into the ECU and ask for more fuel. But at 1psi, you really won't see any difference. Use your £300 on a couple of Apexi Cones and a twin Maf Intake for similar, SAFER gains.
