  1. nice one! thats cool. BUT... at least you meant to take a picture of it, I gave my mate a lift to pick up a new car once, I was driving back down the motorway and took a picture of his car, it wasny until I looked at the picture when I got home that I realised there was a twister in the sky!!!! trying to find it now! :D edit - found that easy! ;)
  2. when my first Z started creaking this is what I found (similar both sides) I've got an arm in the garage.
  3. check this thread, this is what I was on about http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=151486
  4. Damn got really excited there! not because of your misfortune but because I told someone only a couple of days ago to check the lower arm where the tension rod fits!! ;) btw let me know if you need a new arm (shameless plug)
  5. Don't forget it's a 300zx not a zx300. please :tt2:
  6. not very experienced with autos, but that sort of jolt doesnt sound good for the drivetrain!!! :nono:
  7. How many zeds do you have? have you still got breakers n stuff? cant you get a cheap runaround for work and keep a Z sat around for when you can afford it? If you're anything like me (and sounds like you are) if you sell the Z you'll probably wont be able to afford another one anytime soon and will end up never getting another.
  8. technically yes. He had his rear end out
  9. check your front tension arms where the two bolts hold to the lower arm. I had both sides rust away around the bolt holes on a previous zed leaving it in a very dangerous situation.
  10. ok well with all the bits in my garage I've got about 6 zeds
  11. I have an MR2 alternator sat in the garage so that makes ME better than YOU
  12. So you like it? I've got as many zeds as you now.
  13. thanks for your attempt at a reply, but auto to TT conversion? WTF
  14. :slap:
  15. :tt2::tt2: I've heard of lambo doors, scissor doors etc. Thought a durdle door was one that messes you about and teases you before actually opening :donatello:
  16. What a smart looking Z
  17. Whats a durdle door? some sort of modification?
  18. unless you want a second hand one. I have a good condition one for £22 delivered.
  19. BTW ellodave. Your signature is very nice. But you missed the 'o' out of project :tt2:
  20. Happy birthday Dave, think the mods were ignoring your birthday today
  21. yeah best watch out. Its a bit greasy
  22. no not checked for dents or anything yet, will get it jacked up later and have a nosey.
  23. Yeah thats not a bad idea. Surely if it was damaged bottom end it would do it all the time? and not particularly just under load? Do you remember if it was for sale on the forum? would love to find some old pics of it. :thumbup1:
  24. kind of a knocking mate
  25. thanks to the guys that also replied on the other thread, I wanted a seperate thread so I can see all the ideas together and have a big brainstorming exercise  I will have to check for loose pulleys and broken mounts. Quavey - what do you mean about the oil pump, I mean how would that create a knocking noise? When you start the car and it sits at idle it sounds lovely from the HKS system, and the engine is perfectly quiet. You bring the revs up and it starts its knocking/clattery type sound. I haven't got a stethoscope but I'll try a long screwdriver and listen to see if I can find the source. :thumbup1:
