  1. Get a meter across the batter and test the voltage. Clean the terminals as well. You might have enough to turn the dash lights but not enough to turn over, it will just click. If you keep trying it will go disco mode on you.
  2. Yeah, you see what I mean. It's rarity is diluted. I agree it shouldn't be buggered about with really.
  3. That's an unknown sadly. Has anyone ever sold a 99 spec NA auto that's been converted to an TT manual? I don't think they have. The thing is with 99s is there originality, otherwise it's a z32 with 99 bits on it if you see what I mean. You may and suggest your right make it more desirable however you might have the opposite effect and devalue it, it's really subjective and as the old saying goes, "it's worth, what someone will pay" no more, no less. As I've said to you before I seriously considered buying it when Baz did, I think it's a great car.
  4. I'm not sure you can look at it like that. You would of corse have a TT 99 spec but you wouldn't have a 99 spec TT as such. Obviously it would be worth good money but not FULL money. I'm not saying don't do it but the what it would be worth after that is pretty irrelevant. If I was going that way I'd tell the TT buy the 99 na and then convert from a fresh maybe with a grotty UK donor. Full rebuild. But that's me.
  5. Marginal lesser if at all. I'm guessing you'd be using yours as the donor? To get that TT lump in there is going to cost a fair chunk in labour, quite labour intensive. Then you've got the cost of the block or depreciation of the car your using as the donor. This is one of those, if you have pay your going to spend a lot.
  6. Not if you do it properly.
  7. That's why I say Jesus style, unexplained and temporary.
  8. I have the turbo version didn't have an issue. That's the risk with China stuff.
  9. A Jesus style reserection wouldn't surprise me.
  10. Something like that yeah. Buy these; http://www.japspeed.co.uk/nissan-300zx-non-turbo-decat-downpipes.html They're for an NA but should fit a TT. They have a bit more restriction than the others and don't necessitate the removal of the turbo elbows from the turbo that have been rusted and heat cycled on. There available through various sellers under different names so check eBay etc. corse there is still a chance your tubs may smoke but exhaust is just highlighting this not causing.
  11. Good shout. Research and perform the plenum water pipe bypass. That will substantially reduce the risk. Will cost a few quid to replace all the small pipes with new rubber. - - - Updated - - - Great minds.
  12. Have you tried it today now it's cool and full of fluid?
  13. Most upgrade to 2.5". Deleting the cats will make the engine noisier and less laggy. Tbh it's the car back that will change volume most and that really depends on the system. Turbo cars are always quieter than NAs as the turbo itself muffles the sound a bit. What do you want?
  14. How far do you want or are you willing to go? What have you already got planned?
  15. Do you mean 120k? I.e all the pumps etc?
  16. Insufficient oil=insufficient lubrication=overheating and damage. That applies to pretty much any mechanical process, be it a drill bit or an engine. - - - Updated - - - Threw me too.
  17. Nicely done Russ. She's gonna be a winner.
  18. It's sadly not a cheap hobby the Z. I'm in a similar boat, she's gotta some time off work so we're down a pay cheque, I'm in Cologne next weekend, then simply the following and then I'm off to my parents for a week to stay on the farm, ferry tickets are a rip. Looks like my shit bonnet and wheels are going to have to wait.
  19. Did you not say you checked it on departure? Which would suggest its leaking?
  20. For the cost of some ATF there's nothing to loose. Worth a go.
  21. It's a long old trip for you matey. Maybe next year.
  22. If the fluids brown is say you've cooked it, not your fault. Has it got a proper cooler or just the gesture one that JDMs got?
  23. Fill her up with fluid and see what happens tomorrow. You may find its over heating with the journey. Pissin thing. Might behave in short bursts. It's up to you bud, but anything you spend now is money you can't save later. You know what they say, do it once... In respect to work, do it. Not only will the money solve your current issue and then some but help your CV. Any experience is a winner at your age. Equally while I realise a home respray is cheaper it won't be free, that cash will cover the ever mounting consumable costs.
