  1. km speedo with convertor fitted and convertor is playing up, girlfriends fto used to do exactly the same thing, changed convertor problem cured.
  2. hmm just double checked and all four cams are different lenghts inelt 390mm and 430mm exhaust 400mm and 440mm
  3. exhaust 390mm inlet 400mm not including pulleys or pins in end of cam, hth
  4. I removed original fuel tank and have fitted lpg tank and a smaller petrol tank in its place.people that you got quote from probably want to use kit that they are used to instaling and that will probably run on either gas or petrol but wont mix the two together. plus the vogas system is quite a bit dearer than normal lpg kits and takes abit more setting up due to the split fuel mode.
  5. will be starting a journal sometime soon showing all mods/work done to car over the last year.
  6. one pic i found this was taken when i was working out pipework and brackets for pump , this shows where pump is located now .
  7. iirc pump cost about £60 second hand from a saxo, had to make up a couple of pipes to connect pump to original pipework and a bit of wiring with a relay to supply power pipes and wiring were al from stuff i had kicking about.
  8. no its not any lighter im using it because i want to move power steering pump so i can get a straighter air supply to turbo's, no pics at the moment but im mounting it where the batteery would normaly sit.
  9. yep all ready to go mate,it was fitted to my z and was working as it should, only removed it because im fitting an electric pump. £40 posted
  10. got a tt pump with hicas section removed for sale if your interested, straight swap for original pump no modding of brackets required.
  11. its the vogas system ive got, went for it because of the ability to use both fuel systems at the same time giving a theoretical 800bhp from the two systems ,plus you havethe bonus of economy for normal driving.
  12. my z when finished will be running lpg and will hopefully be a reasonable high horsepower as well, looking for about the 500/550 mark at the flywheel.80L lpg tank and pipework are already fitted with the front end kit waiting to be fitted once i fit rebuilt engine.
  13. I cant see anything obviously wrong with those heads, the rough edges around the holes for head bolts are just where the original castings are not cleaned up and is totaly normal.
  14. you'll find that most of that list will b snapped up mate, interested in the cometic gaskets and splitfire coil packs, pm me how much extra you'd want on top off parts im already getting from you cheers. Lee
  15. its an auto pipe was close to gearbox on pass side but didnt hit, try leaving all the bolts slightly slack when fitting this will allow abit of adjustment while fitting then finaly tighten all bolts working frm front to back. hth
  16. just checked handbrake is on the correct side for a lefty
  17. dont know mate never seen a left hooker z but seen quite a few cars with handbrake on wrong side always presumed it was cos manufacturers deemed it too much hassle/expense to put it where it should be.
  18. for most cars yes but the 300zx isnt listed in emisions database for cat equiped cars so gets the older emissions test , all cars after 95 get a cat test and even then there are some circumstances that would mean an older style test ie a 98 car with an engine from an older car as long as the owner can prove the age of the engine.
  19. Ive got the 2fast2cool ones, good quality and a good fit and will give you a little more power than the cybox ones as they replace the pipes right to the turbo's, cybox ones only go as far as the original turbo elbows. Any 300zx up to august 95 will pass an mot without cats as long as it is running properly, pre 95 z's are tested to older emission standards of 3.5% co and 1200ppm hydrocarbons at natural idle.
  20. been interested in this for a while now, can be used in either auto or manuel mode and has programable maps etc. there is a video of it in use somewhere but cant find it just now.iirc shifting gear was quite quick with very little delay between working the lever and actualy changing gear.
  21. Im an mot examiner mate what you have posted is basicaly correct but yo dont have access to all the required information ie exhaust emissions database, car being tested must be listed in the database to require a cat test and the 300zx is not listed so does not get a cat test, the 300zx up to aug 95 not sure on exact date but definately late 95 must be tested to the older non cat emissions test ie 3.5% co and 1200ppm ydrocarbons at natural idle. from 95 on all cars must pass a cat test and would require a cat to be fitted to do so.all my info comes direct from vosa via the vts device at the testing station.
  22. already talked with you about heads mate would still be interested in at least the heads and maybe pistons, rods, etc, need to resuscribe membership will pm you then.
  23. also dave zeds info is from northern ireland test info which is different to uk test.
  24. the 300zx does not require cats to be fitted and does not need to pass a cat test of any type because it is one of the few exceptions as it is not listed in the exhaust emissions database. Only cars after 95 must have cats fitted and must undergo a cat test. The proper emision test for a pre 95 z is 3.5% co and 1200ppm hydrocarbons tested at idle wether it has cats fitted or not.As for failing because the cats themselves are missing, mot stations have no reference data refering to what exhausts are fitted , so most testers would not have anyway of knowing if cats were fitted originaly and could only advise the fact that a cat might be missing, would be different at a nissan dealership or a z specialist though.
