  1. If you're a sports fan, I would say definitly worth the extra tenner a month. Football on Sky Sports HD is superb. Eurosport are also in HD now. There's only three real areas for HD channels 1. Sky Movies x 3 channels 2. Sports x 4 channels. 3. Discovery, History & National Geographic. I don't normally watch the movies, not regular anyway. I do watch a lot of Sky Sports and loads of documentary stuff and for me, it's well worth the extra.
  2. This is an actual video clip from Iraq and not a joke. This is unreal, 2.5 miles away, at night and it looks like they are right there. The pictures were taken from an AC130 Specter gunship two and a half miles away. The guys in the picture are setting up a roadside bomb and planning to ambush an American convoy which followed a short while after the pictures were taken. They were setting up for the ambush and were pacing off the distance from the bomb to where the convoy was to pass by. Turn your sound up. The level of effort these crews put forth to control the enemy's antics is commendable and their marksmanship with those electronically controlled 40 mm cannons is astounding. http://www.navlog.org/iraqinight.wmv

  21. Profit margin in B segment cars is nine tenths of nothing Si. The competition is fierce. We build Micra's since 1992 and made fook all. The new B segment crossover / SUV will be a high profit vehicle, as the retail price will be significantly higher than the "pram with gears" Micra. It's a market with very little competition and great potential, as the Qashqai was and still is. Nissan will be making a Micra based model after 2010 but it will be produced in there new Indian plant...for obvious reasons.
  22. I do mate. Been there 20 years, for my sins :D Been to the Cranfield site a few times over the years
  23. There are no plans to replace the Primera or Almera. The company have basically pulled out of both the C segment market (Almera) and the D segment market (Primera). Both these models were unprofitable (even from the most productive car plant in Europe LOL). The Qashqai was launched when the Almera production stopped at the beginning of 2007. People assumed that the Qashqai was the direct replacement for that market. The Qashqai is a SUV / Crossover positioned somewhere between the C and D segment marketplace. There was a clear gap in the market that this model filled, although several car makers are now producing competition for this segment (Ford and Volvo have both recently launched similar models). The Micra is another model that will not be replaced by Nissan in the UK. It is a very competitive segment (B) of the market and one that the company is unable to compete in. This car will stop production in 2010 and will be replaced by a small SUV. This will be along the lines of the RAV4 or a smaller version of the Qashqai. The Qashqai is currently outselling (by a long way) both the Primera and Almera put together, so I suppose you could say they got it right. This year the plant will produce 270,000 Qashqai's and they are expecting the new smaller SUV to be as successful. Time will tell. Hope I haven't rattled on too much LOL Steve
