  1. yes wirral, but ive just failed the interview on age
  2. what vacume is the motor pulling on idle (thats the figure left of 0 on boost gauge) sounds like the crankcase or bottom end is not getting ventilated as said above, the reason ime asking about vac is its normaly a good indication of piston ring problems before going to the hassle of comp test
  3. bud, you really need acruate readings first before you can go forward, you think its going back to stock boost when warm but iff the gauges are goosed then that means 9psi as you think could be less (ie safe boost) iff the dett sensors bad then just like mine it clicked into action when motor was warm, before you start spending money just put 1megohm resistor inline and see iff it still drops when warm or after 10 mins even before you start investigating the gauges, iff you want a resistor pm your address and ile pick you one up on monday at no cost iff it means you stop suffering any longer   ;)
  4. no,1.2mm should give you12psi ive got 1.00mm and i get 15-16psi sensible weather permiting of course, you start talking 85 degree plus and all boost figures go out the window
  5. well ive re-read your first post and ime going to let you into a secret,my first after market gauge was a autogauge and after 2 months it rested at minus 4psi (thats to the left of 0) then in the warm weather it stuck on 8-10 psi, after getting pissed off i changed it and now its fine so the only thing it could be a faulty "new" gauge :(
  6. you need the balance bar (the small rubber pipe next to the servo)
  7. 390 at the fly :)
  8. have a great day and night bud :duffer: :duffer: pm me iff you need a good divorce soliciter earlly next year
  9. gaskets not needed but you will need to make sure old sealant it cleaned off and a very light smear of the same on mating surfaces, when cleaning the surfaces be very carefull as with any jap castings its very presice and dont take kindly to heavy gouging when cleaning the milled surface
  10. what make gauge is it
  11. depending on the make of gauge ide tend to believe that over the cars gauge, iff after caning the car for 10 mins it drops to 7psi that would sound like its going into safe boost and of course as you know after a re-start the ecu resets back to full boost untill the next dett signal
  12. ive had 3 auto tt,s and drove em like theres no tomorrow with no gearbox issues, lookes like we have loads of luck or its just not our turn yet :(

  22. got my 16 psi back now the weather has cooled down but after i nailed her yesterday i could,nt believe the shiite that blew out the back :( been off boost for 2 weeks and must of carboned the cats up big time, thats the downside of running a chip on the rich side you,ve got to clear its throat more often
