In my experience Windows XP is every bit as reliable as linux. If anything its better, linux being more succeptable to bad configuration causing instability. Win2000 on the other hand has caused me a few problems with crashing for no reason. If your computer is running XP and its unreliable its down to poor drivers, problem hardware, or spyware junk, MS don't really have instability problems anymore.

i'd probably leave them as they are, too scared of breaking them lol. Spraying stuff into the intake wont do anything for it, will get burned off in the engine. Best bet would probably be to spray shitload of carb cleaner in there, the crap would then be sent down the exhaust if it moves it.

only way to see if the car is chipped is to crack open the ECU and have a look. I think the conZult might tell you also. Because its chipped doesnt necessarily mean the boost is increased, it is independant of the ECU.

you got a different CD drive to try? The exact same thing happened to me once, I even tried another CD and it still didnt work, I didnt know what else to do so as a last resort i though ill try another cd drive and it worked straight off. You never know, give it a go..

yeah you can, just make sure the 2 drives arent both master or slave otherwise the PC wont boot.

set the primary drive to master and the second one to slave with the jumpers, make sure the BIOS is set to automatic on both of them. Im presuming the XP is using NTFS, in which case redhat as default has NTFS support disabled in the kernel, theres a way of reactivating it but i dont know how. What I would suggest (assuming you have broadband) is to download a CD bootable version of linux called Knoppix. Boot this up from the CD and you will be able to see both your windows and linux partitions, and you will be able to move filed between them. HTH

sounds like your CD is knackered m8, try another one. Also turn off the 'virus protection' in your BIOS that will stop the warning when the boto sector is being written.

it doesnt have a ticker right now, but like i said the car is spot on, could go and get one tomorrow no problems, I would get one before selling the car anyway.

a full MOT is not a problem, the car is immaculate theres nothing wrong with it, its just not been used, sat in the garage for nearly 12 months. at 2-3k i think ill keep it! :eek:

Its been a long time coming, but the zed is going for sale :( I don't know realistically what to ask for it, what do you guys reckon? '91 Import TT Auto 2+2 Pearl white 64k miles leather it has jasma backboxes on, but they are finished, the stock ones will be provided though. it needs the following tax MOT - these can be arranged though cambelt (and other 60k stuff, recent new plugs & K&N air filters though) aircon compressor is knackered - works well but makes a dreadful noise theres some deep scratches on the drivers door along with a dent I think thats about it So what do you think.
