Well if you have a ticket it's got his details on it!!! Put an official complaint, in writing, into his superiors, stating exactly what happened and also list any witnesses to the officers actions. Maybe go along the lines of, you are perfectly happy to receive advice on what is legal or not as it's sometimes not totally clear, but a PUBLIC SERVANT, obviously, and intentionally, trying to antagonise a local event that brings money to the local economy is not how you expect to be treated, and that maybe the local authority should think twice before allowing this particular officer to police such areas in the future considering his attitude to local tourism. Also I think police forces also have oversight comittee's, copy any letters to them as well and also to the local press. He was obviously trying to make a pest of himself - return the favour ;)

***chav Smashes Windscreen***
Can't agree more with what he did!!! Sorry hunniepie but at base we are animals through thousands of years of evolution, and a hundred years or so of "civility" ain't going to change our genetic code. The problem is that in nature during childhood and adolescence a pecking order is established by who's the strongest etc. Our "civilised" world has basically said that this isn't acceptable so what we are in effect saying is that we are trying to alter thousands of years of evolution with societal rules :headvswal So what happens to the adolescent who's base nature is telling them to challenge for their position in society - but no one bites back to let them know their true position in life??? They start strutting round like they own everything - their genetic code is telling them; well if nobody bites back, your the strongest / the leader!!! (In nature you don't see the alpha male wolf rolling over when challenged by an upstart teenage male do you???) Problem is an adolescent isn't mature enough to lead - hasn't got the experience to have empathy etc, so you end up with people in society who will beat people up for no reason - they weren't checked early enough in life to make them think twice about their actions, therefore there are no consequences to attacking people when they feel like it!!!! It ain't no wonder society is like it is because we are trying to supress the base animal instincts that rule our very existence. So giving a gobshite teenager a good kicking when they step out of line is actually the evolutionary right thing to do so that we can all have a harmonious society ;) And until these liberal arseholes realise that it ain't counselling thats needed, the sooner they will start to have the society they say they want :x:

Is it wrong?
Please take no offence here dude, but if I read what your saying correctly yeh I think your wrong (as in you would like your kids to be footballers). Hopefully you had the chance to make your own mind up what you wanted to do, it may or may not have worked out but hopefully you had that chance at your own freedom!!! If your kids want what you want for them all power to ya, but you have to be willing to accept that they may not want the same as you, and in that circumstance you need to be able to support and back them 100% to chase after their own dreams and take pleasure in the joy they get from doing that - all IMHO of course ;)

About 7pm on Friday night coming onto one of the roundabout's on the ring road - was driving a Toyota Landcruiser covered in Hot Air Balloon Graphics. Must say, sorted looking motor, made the silver on mine look well dull and the wheels really suited it.

Best exhaust for 300ZX
Although it isn't stainless all the way through, I run an HKS Super Drager single exit on mine and the sound is absolutlely stunning, and not to intrusive when pottering around town. Certainly changes the exhaust note from the low 'V' engine type burble to something more akin to a race engine note.

Csa
My Daughter was living with me and visiting her Mum on the odd weekend. She signed on and answered the question: Have you got any children? Answer yes (of course). CSA then asked her for my details which she refused to give them as our Daughter was living with me and she wasn't claiming for the nipper anyway (which they were informed of in writing several times), and that any bills relating to childcare I pay, plus helping the ex out too when she needs it. Well long and short of it was they reduced her benefit (After 15 years of working and paying tax and NI into the system  ) - told her she was entitled to 25% of everything I earn  (even after explaining again that our Daughter lived with me!!!!!) and 6 months later has had to sign off as they won't leave her alone about it. Her Sister though had a kid with some low life who instantly dissapeared yet they can't get him to pay a penny. Don't just scrap the CSA, take them out in to a field and bomb the *******s, ****ing incompetent bunch of :xxx:

lowering petrol prices
Yeh duty may not be as much as people think, but once duty is applied to the base price of fuel they then add VAT - tax on tax anyone!!!! - therefore we pay one of the highest fuel duties in the EU even though the base cost of fuel per litre in this country is one of the lowest in the EU. As for boycotting ESSO and BP (where's Shell in that list?????) how will that hurt them much? as last time I looked Tesco's etc don't have any oil refineries so all they are doing is bulk buying from Esso, BP and Shell and using it as a loss leader to bring you into their stores!!!! If you've got issues with the price of petrol it's the Gov't you need to take to task, but don't hold your breath as Mr Brown predicted 3.5% growth in the economy and he's only getting 1.6%. Therefore the fact oil is at $60+ a barrell means some of the shortfall in the Gov't burn money as fast as you can plan is made up, so he can't do what the French Gov't is predicted to do and hand back the windfall tax they are making from higher oil prices to lower the price at the pump. Rock and a hard place comes to mind

Rose jointed tension rods
Yeh a Marcher meet sounds good to me. Mines a Silver J Spec manual. Not come across a white one round the area. There are 2 Grey's around Oswestry and a Black one up towards Queens Head too but I don't think any of them are club members though. Deffo not seen your's yet as I think I would have noticed that, as it looks pretty damn stunning mate. If your in St. Martins anytime drop by. I live at the Post Office, although only there in the evenings and weekends, or drop me a pm. Just read through your post too, glad you are ok and the cars not too badly damaged (pretty similar damage to mine by the way, spooky). Thank god there are some decent drivers still on the road and hope you get some joy from the garage thats abused your motor, just don't hold your breath, you'll probably suffocate. Really decent garage's seem to be few and far between these days. K

What shall i do with my central 20 chip
I run a Mines ECU in my Jap TT import which is mapped for 100 ron fuel. Just run it on Optimax, had no prob's whatsoever and the Mines is supposed to be pretty aggresive. Had a Jap N/A before this one with a Central20 chip in, again Optimax and no prob's. Mind you stick anything else in and it runs like a bag of crap. Ex missus once stuck a tenner's worth of supermarket unleaded in it (as she didn't see the point in spending the extra) - detonation anywhere above 3000rpm, and that's why she's the EX!!!!! HTH

Rose jointed tension rods
Yep reckon I got off really light with this one, thank god that it happened when it did. Also my bodyshop reckons the damage to the wing will only cost bout £120 to repair so more luck there. Just like to say thanks to everyone thats responded too, with both advice and kind words, really is a great community here!!! Smithy will give you a call bout some replacements, cheers dude.

Rose jointed tension rods
Hi Vijay, The rods were on the car when I bought it, and as the guy I bought it from hadn't had it long, and was the first owner after import, I assume they were fitted in Japan. Mark, cheers for that mate will have a look - and yeh that was my thought too, that they were more show than go, and it would either prove to be an isolated material weakness or monkey metal :smw:
-
Rose jointed tension rods
Yep had seen that thread before so checked it out as soon as I got home, but that only deals with oem rods with polybushing, not rose jointed rods. This does seem like a totally different issue as that warning from Mac dealt with the inflexibility of the polybushes transfering the torsional stresses down the rod and resulting in stress fractures either at the head of the rod or at the fixing point on the lower arm. This seems to have just literally pulled apart under the force of hard braking in the middle of a corner (right hander). If it seems that this is an isolated case then fair enough, I will take it that there was a weakness in the material used, or inferior material grade and just replace with the same items from a known source. If on the other hand this has been experienced before then I will look to have a set machined that are a lot heavier duty than these.
