Took these on my Honeymoon in South Africa last year - on safari. I would recommend it to anyone It was a fantastic experience being that close to wild animals.

It is all down to interpretation of the DVLA rules. The standard size UK plate on a 99 spec bumper overhangs the mounting - therefore it has "restricted space for a standard sized number plate"

In his second year mine was flying at between 1lb 6 3/4 and 1lb 7 3/4 depending whether we were hunting or not. Have you been doing falconry long ?

SE Box Hill to Brighton Run - 20 August 2006
It was a good - if not (unexpectedly) expensive day !!! I'd personally like to thank Officer Jobsworth for doing a great policing job - he really is a credit to the farce.

Yes - I was not pleased. I have a 99 spec bumper and as it is an import the DVLA say: "Display of Vehicle Registration Marks on Imported Vehicles (which have a restricted space for a standard sized number plate) Certain imported vehicles may be permitted to display number plates with smaller characters if: The vehicle does not have European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval AND The vehicle's construction/design cannot accomodate standard size number plates Specifications for smaller sized plates (for certain imported vehicles) Character Height 64mm Character Width 44mm Character Stroke 10mm Space between characters 10mm" My number plate conforms to all these criteria, with the exception of the width - my characters are 42mm not 44mm. So technically the copper was right, though he had to get his tape measure out to check !! I suggested that he might have something better to do with his time, like catching proper criminals. He did wish me a "nice day" too :xxx: after issuing me a £30 fine !

NZR Anyone ever kept Birds of Prey?
I used to have a farm with 18 acres - which was ideal space for flying. Now I am in a residential area, which would make it difficult - though I would definately like to get back into it one day. This is my Harris Hawk - Woodstock and my Owl - Cartman

You don't need a permit if it is captive bred
