  1. Hmm, get yourself down to your local Z doctor / tuning shop etc - who my be able to diagnose the problem. If something is really loose in the pipe-work department, you might experience a poor vacuum when decelerating. I think my gauge shows about -20Hg on overrun, an about -18 when idling (assuming the car has warmed up). On a stock gauge, IIRC, the pointer sits at about the minus 3/4, thats the second to last line, on the (UK) gauge. Si
  2. Although our paths never crossed on here, I would still like to express my heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends, including you Pete. This will be an understandably difficult time for you all, so I wish you all the very best. Simon.
  3. Mmm, sounds like a problem there mate. Could one of many things - but usually a boost leak stopping you from producing any reasonable positive pressure! What does your boost gauge show when testing your motor on your private track;) ??
  4. Hi mate, BOV's / recircs are for releasing the pressure in the intake manifold Waste gates divert the exhaust gas away from the turbine thus allowing the turbine the spin down. Si.

Well said Smithy. Perhaps our forum ought to implement an eBay style ratings system for all known traders (registered or not) so other members could try and judge for themselves who is or isn't a good trader! I think the figures would speak for themselves. Unfortuantely, bad vibes are communicated much better than good. So everybody make sure you've got your pinch of salt ready when listening to other people's horror stories! Lets face it, any respectable trader / garage / whoever won't make the same mistake twice! Si.
  6. Usually I'm well impressed by a really good photoshoped image, but these vector pics are something else!: http://basangpanaginip.blogspot.com/2006/07/worlds-most-photorealistic-vector-art.html Read some of the comments at the bottom - a few mixed comments about the hard work put into creating these pics. Even if the 'artist' is basing this work on a photo, it should be noted that the vector image is infinitely scalable and made of objects, e.g. 2d maps and 3.d meshes. Amazing! [ed: Don't forget to click the 'outline' under each pic as well to view the wireframe of the 3d image] Si.

  8. Remove the rear seat to reveal two nuts on both sides. Remove these, then the screw under the cover in the top of each panel, then pull gently! Job done.

  10. Hi Mate, If you mean the bulges in the downpipes, right after the turbos, then you may be referring to the additional cats which were added from around 93 if I remember correctly. Simon.
  11. :) lol It's fair enough that stickies appear at the top of the first page of threads, but not every page!
  12. All, Ignoring the overall diameter of new wheels for moment, is there any benefit to go wider on the front wheels? Standard as you know is 8" on the front, and I reckon I'll stick with that when ordering some new ones. The rear is a slightly different matter, where I indend to go 9" (or maybe 9.5"), but appreciate that with wider tyres, wet weather driving is likely to get the back end out more! Any thoughts on the above??
  13. Hi Dave, Fired up a few old computers today at work - but none with VB4 on it. However I did find a VB4 install cd at home this evening! So if you do want more assistance, PM me and I'll install it, and see what I can do for you. Cheers
