  1. Agreed, definitely more room to work around the engine that way. i suppose i best make sure i have everything i need before i start lol
  2. I do listen, but mikey you should know, that where i am at the moment, isnt the best place to be getting engines out of cars with, if i need to pack up or need to run to get a part, im pretty much stuffed, also, last time i asked, the box was staying on the car, not being removed.
  3. can it be done and is it easier to do with the box out the way? got a turbo change and auto to manual conversion coming up, i will most likely just take the engine out to change the turbos, but can it be done with the engine in the car if the gear box is removed? as you would, i assume, get more access to the turbos.
  4. thats the auto spigot bearing i was on about, i call it that as then people know what im on about lol
  5. i would of thought that with the amount of people doing auto to manual conversions, (IE: sticking a Manual box on a Auto engine) then there really shouldnt be an issue. its basically the reverse of doing a Auto to manual conversion, its a manual to auto conversion, but changing the engine instead of the gear box. I would of thought if there was a problem, it would of been highlighted by now with the auto to manual route.
  6. they could of done, just because someone knows the in's and outs of uprated parts, doesnt mean they know the stock engine. Though, as i said, im just going on the info thats avalible on this site lol
  7. cant see a problem with that, take out the manual spigot bearing, and put in a auto one, then just add all the auto gearbox parts and off you go.
  8. from what i can remember through all the info on this site, the TT is forged, the N/A isnt
  9. Just because your shit at doing mechanical work, doesnt mean others are matey.:tt2:
  10. then the other owner will be groover lol
  11. there are 4 where i live, and i own 3 of them
  12. I suppose it would depend on what he classes as south of england, I think he is thinking that anywhere south of Portsmouth
  13. depends what you want to gain and what your tastes are, standard pipes are (if i remember correctly) 2.5 inch pipes, most after markets are around the 3inch diameter, and will go on the standard cats if you get a cat back system. you will see more power gain from a standard exhaust, and a even bigger one if you remove the cats. just be warned though, removing the cats can be a mine field, as most haven't been removed before, so the studs that hold them onto the turbo elbows tend to snap. some times your lucky though. you can also run the car down to a local garage and ask them to use some oxyacetylene on them and start them undoing with out risk of them snapping. (doesnt always work) if they do snap they will need to be drilled out and either re-tapped, or if you can rescue the threads, new studs put in.
  14. basic mods reprise of Full decat Stainless steel exhaust Performance Air Filter Boost jets (sometimes) ECU upgrade stock they are usually good for around 380bhp on simple mods before you have to start changing internals and getting into silly money. But if your going for the dogs *****cks in engine builds. then it would be fully rebuilt engine with uprated pistons, con rods, injectors, chipped and mapped ECU, Uprated turbos, Bigger inter cooler, hi flow rad, uprated fuel pump, and high flow fuel filter, boost controller instead of boost jets, lightened crank, lightened flywheel, lightened pulleys and sprockets, uprated head gasket, lightened single prop, bigger brakes to stop it, fully adjustable suspension with all upgraded arms and tie rods, new nylon bushes. to be honest there is so much you can do to the car once you get started and i know there are bits ive missed out as its not a comprehensive list. if you go with just the basics then no, you don't need to worry too much about uprating the rad, though its always a nice addition as the engines tend to run hot. but do a search as running too cold can also damage the engine. But before you start modding, make sure you get your engine checked properly or it could just end in disaster, also with changing to a fully decatted straight through exhaust, will hi light existing problems with turbo seals if it has them and you might end up having to recondition or change them.
  15. When you resubscribe, you go back to a green name, just like us mods do, (kinda worrying) Im finding it intriguing that its taken you this long to realise your name is green
