i hope i,m right when i said 02 sensors , both plugs have the same red and white and black wires, one is on the side of the engine (o/s) and the other is at the rearof the engine near the battery . Bit concerned about emisions now , its going for the MOT sat morning :cry: Cheers Allan

Need a bit of advice , recently found that both O2 sensors have been disconnected , car runs sweet , full boost and does,nt miss a beat Obviously means one or both are shagged or is there another reason this has been done. If you de-cat a Z then wot happens to the O2 sensors ? Wot affect will it have on my car as it is ? And more importantly will i fook anything up running like this :cry: By the way i have,nt tried plugging them back in for fear of buggering something up :slap: cheers for any advice Allan

Just make sure you find somebody who knows what there doing mate , i,ve been doing panelbeating for 22 years and believe me there are alot of that,ll do merchants out there, best of luck though ,By the way is it a zx your jigging ? :)

When i bought my car the matrix had gone , Manta v8 downloaded some pages from http://www.aus300zxclub.com/tech/heater/heatercore.htm you get 6 pages giving you step by step instuctions with photos on how to replace the core without removing the dash if its an AUTO , Relaced my rad and matrix in one evening and a saturday morning on my own , did,nt find it hard ,its just a bit fiddley. Priced a new one , i think it was about £160 , if its the valve on the side of the matrix there also available seperately about £40. As has already been mentioned you can bypass the matrix , just pull off the two hoses at the back of the engine that go to the matrix pipes poking through the bulkhead , get a length of hose the right bore and link the engine pipes together , then at least you can get the matrix done at your leasure Hope this helps , iknow it did for me !! :) :) :)

You could visit a local bodyshop which has its own mixing scheme and get them to mix u the smallist amount which i think is 1/10th of a litre, but to be honest even if u use the right colour putting it on with a touch up brush it never matches properly especially on metallics. I,d be tempted to find the closest available silver touch up and use that if you are only using it for stonechips , either way you,ll still see the touch up spots. HTH :)

Nice one Simon , its nice to see someone else with a good taste in colours, we were on our way back from the swap meet , only 7 300,s turned up and a handfull of 240s and 260s and was it foooking cold but it was good to meet some other bankrupt Zeders !! I took the old one so they could copy the size , mounting lugs and to get the angles of the inlet and outlet correct . They will also fit any extra bosses you might want in case your going to fit an aftermarket temp guage, it only took a week from walking in with the knackered one to walking out with the new one , probably quicker than if i had got a replacement from nissan ;)

If your car has,nt been antifreezed corectly the rads rot from the inside out , mine looked fine but pissed out in the same area ! Did you see my thread on the uprated one i had made at sercks, hand made out of brass with alot thicker core , might not be as bling as a koyo but this one will outlast the car ,hope this helps any ;)

Got the rad today , no probs fitting it , just had to trim a bit of the rubber of the top brackets for them to seat properly , there were no mounts for the cowling but there again i did,nt ask john to fit them ! When i bought the car ( Deanos jap tt ) i knew the heater matrix had gone and been bypassed, got a S/H one through the club so i,ve put that in aswell, quite easy to do with the dash in (if its an auto ) just fiddly , tis if yo,ve got fingers like bananas. So finally ive got cooling at the front and heat in the middle bit ! One happy boldy :dance:

My rad decided it was,nt going play ball anymore last week , i phoned nissan for a price !! £277 plus vat , ouch , but not wanting the same problems you get i.e side tanks going brittle and being bloody puny for such a big and hot engine Manta v8 recomended i phoned SERCK INTERTRUCK they looked at the old rad to see if an uprated core could be fitted , the side tanks are available seperately from nissan but they are too slim to fit a thicker core . They said they can make a new rad out of brass with a triple core , aparently having a much improved flow rate and obviously more coolant. The best bit £190 plus vat , quite a good upgrade me thinks ! :dance:

On my jap tt i had plastic moulded base boxes , y i dont know cos they did,nt make any base !!! , i,ve been told these were an option , they had built in amps aswell in the boxes , the amps had been bypassed having the speakers wired straight to the head unit , still sounded sh*t . Iripped them out , made an MDF panel and fitted 9 by 6 speakers directly in the doors ,they line up with the original grilles and are a major improvement over the originals . hope this helps any. :)
