Hi Guys, Does anyone know how to test a speedo sensor? My speedo takes its time to start working correctly ever since i changed the dust cluster to a UK one. Really starting to p*** me off now. I changed the battery as it seemed power related. I've had it out to look at the soldering. I can't work it out. Someone must have had this issue and fixed it!!!!!! Cheers

Hi Guys, Looking under the car yesterday and notice that there are 2 silver briaded wires coming from the cat box and that they've both been cut. Is this something other people have done and for what reason? or should I try reconnecting them? Also does anyone know how to test the speedo sensor at the gear box? Cheers Guys

I changed mine to the UK cluster and have the same problem. If the car was used daily she seems fine but leave it a couple of days and the speedo takes a few miles to kick in. If you get to the route of the problem email please.

I converted a few weeks ago and from day one Everything works nicely but the speedo takes a few minutes to start working dependant on how long ago i last drove it. It was suggested that i resolder the circuit board directly behind the speedo but looking at it it seems perfectly intaked. But i have seen this small blue adjuster and wondered if anyone had a solution to my problem or knows what this adjuster is? Cheers guys

thanks for that advise will look at it shortly. when you say run fresh solder over the existing tracks on the speedo circuit board do you mean the one directly behind the speedo or the circitry on the back of the cluster? again cheers

Question: I've fitted a UK dial cluster to my jap import, everything works fine but the speedo takes a while to start moving. once it gets going its all perfect till next time I use the car. Anyone else had this issue or know whats causing it? cheers Guys

Yeah this is factory fitted, it's a paper thin light unit behind the 300zx letters i had one on mine. it should connect to a white inch square box bolted behind the light units. Mine doesn't work i'm presuming the box (resistance unit or something) is knackered as it buzzes quite loudly. If you get it working should look sweet.

would definately be in on that depending on location again.

Hi stu, yes that me down goring. im trying to get to grips with the old zeds. Lovin the car but loads of way more complex stuff than my old CRX mk2. Is yours imported? if so did you convert the dash or remap the ecu? We should do a drive out with millsy and at last some time. Cheers

This speedo convertion stuff seems a nightmare or im probably just being thick still! Is the thick yellow with thin green strip coming from the black or white plastic wiring plug as they both have one? Cheers
