  1. Thanks to all your advice on what to and not to do. As it happens Andre was a genuinely likeable gentlemen, who spent over £300 to get here, i saw the tickets and passport, and was not what i expected. the reason for his rush to buy it, simple as from jan 1, Belgium changes the year by which a car is considered classic from 25 to 30, he was planning to get one next year but only just found out. Oh, plus the money cleared with no problem. Moral, nothing to worry about, but no harm in checking... Rich
  2. Jeff, thanks for that, i'll come back to your question, i rang paypal and they said the money was mine and the delays were due to 3 withdrawals (wd) plus this deposit and 3 further wd's on it, plus it was a non uk source, but they guaranteed me it couldn't be refunded by him. now i did some digging and andre engelen is a architect and his house (jeff, this is your answer) look just like his facebook cover. (below) I will also ask to see his passport, rail tickets and utility bill (banks idea) so all things considered, if he checks out, byr byr car. Oh there was no time to get cash and when he tried the bank transfer if didn't work. Otherwise i would have! Joel you know i'm selling my car.. i told you when we spoke about the controller, which is for my 2U PC i'm making I'll let you all know how it goes, he's due within the hour.
  3. Ok, Quick description, my car has been for sale on the 300zx facebook page, this guy from Belguim shows interest and after a while says he'll have it and come tomorrow, he then pays the money,no haggling, to my paypal. , i then go to withdraw money and it gives some security reason not to, but says it could take up to 21 hours now every thing seems ok, except...i have a nagging doubt about him, empty facebook entry no posts on any clubs. my worry is he will cancel the payment and it refunds while he's driving away!! i mean, does he even live in belguim Any help would be appreciated

  8. i need to remove the protected fuel pipe between cyl 5 and 6 see pic. disconnect battery, remove fuel pump fuse, remove pipe. is that about it? Rich
  9. Jeff, wow! thats really really useful and interesting. i appreciate it. i think that post deserves to be on the sites FAQ etc page.. Rich
  10. Thats a good idea Jeff, i can see all those years under a Zed didn't go to waste.... respect. Just a quickie, followed your link to zedworld, ended up on the detonation page, first 2 graphics explain normal and preignition, but although the third graphic is about detonation, it doesn't actually say what causes it. do you mind giving me a little explanation, i know its off topic, but its my topic... Thanks rich
  11. Thanks Jeff, so if its still firing it wont be for long...so better change it.
  12. Hi guys, Well i'm sure some of you remember some of my frantic attempts to get some readings off a std injector (cica 1989/1990) but i have another question, i know what they read if they are working correctly and i know what they read when they are dead, but which is best....fi no no to much harry hill, now my question is what state are they in if they read 140 and dropping.... i will say that this injector is still working. Thanks Rich
  13. Alic , youre a star, pm me your paypal address and ill send you my address, Thanks Rich
  14. Hi I,ve found out one of the fuses in front of the Driver under the bonnet, a line of 5 or 6, Has blown, its the one for the fuel pump, its a FLN-30. Does any one know where i can get them from, apart from USA and China... Thanks
  15. Well I was actually thinking of just Cutting a small enough hole( 3 sides only) bend it back, attach the hose, posh back the panel, couple of tack welds, tiger seal the rest, and I do care about my car, I'm trying to come up with a plan to stop water pouring in to the floor and rotting it.
  16. Would out be easier to remove the wing and cut a hole in the bulkhead ( weld it back of course)
  17. Cheers Alic, Joel, same reason you did.... Rich
  18. Turns out when the house was rewired a live wire in the landing light switch was nicked and then pressed against the earth , livening up the metal conduit in the wall, after the leak had made its way to the wall it then livens up the wall, ceiling dog bowl, you name it. all is well now but a lucky escape all round
  19. I blocked up the pipes that go down the A pillars, inside the cowl. I know what they are for, just wondering if it is a acceptable answer to my problem. Thanks
  20. Came up the stairs few days ago to notice the ceiling all brownish and bubbly. Ah! must be a leek, up i go in the loft to find a sodden pile of loft insulation under a water pipe. looking further i find the hole in the pipe. i put one of our dogs metal bowls under it to catch any further drops. a few days later i check it for any leak and funnily enough there is no leakage in the bowl. Never mind. Yesterday i go up to check it and as i touch the bowl "POW"!! F**K ME 240 volts straight through my fingers!!. To cut the story short, i get one of my many MultiMeters i have and go up and test the bowl ... 240V...the plaster board ceiling... 230V I jump Downstairs and test the Ceiling in the Bathroom,Toilet and Hall... Blilmey!! all showing major voltages... Ringing a building services place later on but this is a weird one... Rich ps Dont touch the ceiling....
  21. Turbo `Thanks for that, seems the services of a small child are needed, FOR THEIR SMALL HANDS!!!! Stephen, once i get to the pipe i'll do something along those lines.. Thanks guys.. Rich
  22. Alic - Thanks mate, before i read this i removed the indicator and peered in, straight to the pipe, this pipe is not going to budge, so if there is a pipe coming off its on the inside, Stephen - there is no weird cat piss curry smell, shame.. so i think the pipe that comes down has come off allowing the water to flood the foot-well. so next question is , how do i gain access to the bulkhead to put it back on.?
  23. little steps.... Is it possible to see if the rubber tube that sticks through the inner wing (sort of) on the drivers side, is still sticking through it.. the picture explains it better than i can...
  24. This was the one that came with my TT, really comfortable. Homemade.
  25. Thanks Jeff, I'll take another look, someone suggested it could be a redundant wire from the lhd option,
