  1. is there any info on dropping the front sub frame?, id much rather do that then drop the box. assume id need to get it the zed aligned afterwards... i miss my s13 id have had the engine back in by now lol...
  2. providing i get my engine out ill have 4 spare auto turbos 2 in need of rebuild, 2 used i bought off zedworld ages ago unknown condition.
  3. pulling my engine to fit my new turbos... ive removed everything (all hoses wires etc) removed ac pump alternator, pas, exhaust, starter 2x motor mount nuts, and 10x transmission bolts, but the engine still wont budge? whats still holding my engine in? what have i missed? is there a trick or something? not touched the steering am i supposed to remove something? any help would be great spent the last 2 hours fighting a rusty motor mount just to find it still don't come out, bored of scratching my head now....
  4. im taking the engine out over the next week anyway, so ill find a way to lock the fly wheel thanks.
  5. crank nut is 24mm? think mines been changed at some point then as it looks like 27-28mm. mines a 91 auto TT JDM if it makes any difference
  6. its the nut more then the pulley, cant get any grip on the pulley to turn the nut, (just spins freely,)
  7. that's how i just broke mine....... stuck a leaver bar right through it.... its all bent now... i think ill fit the rest of the pulleys and see what we have at work once i put the engine back in...
  8. how do you get the pulley off the alternator? and the crank? got the pas one off and the water pump one, but have just broken my alternator fighting the pulley. (see items wanted urgent section) and what size is the crank nut? i dont have a tool big enough lol.
  9. zx-tt has a nice one for sale
  10. id come if we could get a big meet organised,
  11. i've not read this fully but, my bonnets spaced, and can i just add air does flow out of my bonnet and over the roof at speed, had a water leak way back when and the steam came right up over the windscreen no vortexes or anything, and particularly when sitting in traffic noticed since it was done the average temp dropped a couple of degrees, although im now running a huge rad and nismo thermostat which have dropped it even more... (id say get a bigger rad before cutting your car up. )
  12. its summer who needs a heater anyway... lol good that its fixed... interesting been hunting a misfire on my zed for some time might have to check my injectors
  13. even most Nissans now don't have spares as standard, they have a pump and a tub of inflating glue... however if the tires split or damaged too badly they don't work, and even if they do, the Tyre cant be repaired once it has the stuff in it. personally i still have my space saver in my zed, as i've had to use them before, so much easier then waiting an hour for a tow truck.
  14. love it!!! make sure you keep us all updated, thinking of doing a similar conversion myself, love the sound of a Chevy V8, glad to hear you've gone for holley carbs :thumbup1:
  15. had another go, re measured and their is enough clearance to recess the amp (the amp im getting is fairly thin, ) but not to bring it forward as it makes it to tight for the targa roofs. angled the rear 6x9's in as well as forward,
  16. lol...:tongue_smilie: when it was parked up at japfest there were so many people looking into its boot looking for something, felt kinda silly all that was there was a dirty carpet and my lunch...
  17. thanks ill play with the design maybe a 45 degree angle on a single set of 6x9s, would point them into the cab better, i have 4 good tri-axle 6x9s just wanted to use them... what about this? im getting a 5ch mutant Ascension amp, 4 x 125W RMS 2 Ohms Stereo + 1 x 325W
  18. thanks for the info just bought a pair of 10" mutant subs, (picture is a scale model of the boot, spent ages measuring) with the space below where the jack etc are should give enough of a box with these subs. haven't decided on if i should use more then 1 set of 6x9's in the top yet, or if i should mount anything in the panel with the amp. (not alot f room due to a stut brace.)
  19. been toying with the idea of making an install, purely because i've never had one before, (not ever had a sub before either...) what does anyone think? i still want room for my targa roofs,
  20. this is interesting, guess the oil must have broken down which is unusual for castrol. this happened to my mates celica on the track at japfest though, but he was using cheap oil.
  21. i don't run these injectors yet, but couple of thoughts, is the chip defiantly right? sounds like it might not be. what turbos you running? are you running a dual intake? can the engine get enough air to support the larger injectors?
  22. put simply you can but its easier to take the engine out. im about to do mine but im taking my engine out as its a good excuse to do a load of other bits like re-shelling the crank and new seals etc. you live up the road from me so ill give you some advise if you get a garage to do it chose very carefully, hence why im doing mine myself now.
  23. saw 3 zeds once we'd turned around to look for another way in, nice white, red, and black came passed in the loud black dirty one lol. out of interest how long did it take to get in if we'd waited in that line?
  24. as far as i know the auto turbos are just slightly smaller to aid spoil time, and the manuals have slightly more top end, but they are both the same fitment, think the only difference in down pipes is some manual ones don't fit autos as the box gets in the way.
