i run a Nissan parts dept. now, but when i first got my zed took it to a dealer in Bolton, and he asked me... "is it a renualt?" after coming out to the car park and looking at it. bought a complete set in silicon for $44 from z1 for mine, its really annoying as we have very little influence on parts prices,

its the VP100 bit after that's important. think its 32865 VP100, but always found the descriptions great lol.

just got the manual out and your both right, should be 10W40, for normal conditions my bad, 5W30 is a winter/cold start oil. but its what olie oil recommended for my spec so im happy. what an idiot i've been calling them olie oils for ages and its actually opie oils... opps

its just what we use now in our servicing, we don't put 10W40 in anything unless a customer specifically asks for it. the thinker grades probably better for the older engines, but i've never had a problem with 5W30. i was recommended on using silkolene by the olie oil guys at japfest

what grade you using? part or fully synthetic? think normal is to use 5w30 synthetic oil, well its what we put in them when servicing. i personally use, Silkolene PRO S 5W-30 Ester Synthetic

recon id use turbo dynamics. they did my s13's old turbo, and have only heard good things, its about £200 +vat iirc (per turbo)

it could be, what oil you using? but id imagine it you be more then just on deceleration, takes a few mins to change the oil and filter, would be good for it regardless of if it stops the smoke. if your stuck im only down the road from you, i could always give you a hand.

yeah that orange one is GTT as that's what's on mine at the Mo. coincidentally, im taking it off as i've broken the front 2 studs (has 4 but one has come out the spoiler the other has snapped) it doesn't suit my plans for the car so was going to put it up for sale if your interested.

im intrigued by this, what does anyone think, apart from the fact the picture is the color im painting my zed, i've wanted a lip for the front, and couldn't find one to fit, car.mad if you read this anything you could do like this? (could send you this if i buy it) maybe if i bought it you could modify it to be a bit less prominent opinions? (opps link now added)

sounds like turbos seals to me, just had the same problem, only smoked blue on idle, and when warm, blue smoke from 1 exhaust, didn't smoke under any other circumstances, however symptoms are almost identical seals and PCV valves. not really anyway of diagnosing the turbos, unless there is obviously oil in the compressor or exhaust housing, but even on inspection mine showed no signs of failure.

my mates took a picture of a light blue zed with large amounts of bare metal and pug on it, on there way to winsor yesterday. had ferari louvers in the side, and 300zx.co.uk club stickers on it. looked like an intresting project....

lol no viscous fan i've go a new electric fan that went on when the turbos did. ill completely redo the intake system ( remove check and re install) this weekend, and if i can get to them ill fit a spare pair of actuators just to rule them out, but then i think it only leaves the turbos.... :blink:

no your right it does carry on for a very tiny bit, after the boost drops, and like i said earlier does appear to rattle very slightly before and after the noise. although it could be unrelated.

yeah they are turbo Technics stage 2's, and the noise is only on boost, ( noise is loud even at 0-1psi, which is why i don't think its an air leak nor did our technicians) too loud for normal spool IMO, particularly as they didn't do it on the previous vehicle.

was stuck in stop-start traffic earlier and there seems to be a very slight rattle just before and after the noise, might be unrelated. think im going to have to gully gut the air system and start over. TBH an air leak i can live with, as i have to agree its a kinda cool noise, but until i can rule something more major out i cant leave it.

haha i like that way of looking at it, i have got a mark on my bumper where the zed tried to eat a traffic cone, in one of the nearly crashes lol.

has anyone ever had one of thoses day when your public enermy number 1? on the few miles to work my zed was nearly hit 3 times.....!! had a customer shouting at me for 10mins before they realized they bought the part from another dealer got boxed on my drive way when i went home for lunch, and somone actually rang the garage to complain my cars too loud.... WTF??? am i the only one to have had a day like this??? heard on the radio its supposed to be the happiest day of the year or somthing... lol

if we have a set date a load of us are going up i'll come along, need an excuses to go through the dartford tunnel....
