smokers - non smokers
Smoked for years, given up giving up. Woe betide the nerdy git that points out the fact that smoking is anti-feckin social. It is anti-social to stub ciggies out on faces, so don't try it.

advice please?
Some other probs. to look-out for:- Prop centre bearing Gear selection, syncro baulking on 2nd and 4th As previous, Targa roof seals. If panels not replaced properly the seals fold over and you get a wet a*se, or some twonk has put silicon sealant around it. Clutch, can be a big problem for single handed D.I.Y. Water pipes/hoses, there are some awkward buggers to get at, under the inlet manifold, either side, and one little bute above the N/S turbo at the rear of the block. Other than that, they are rapid motors and possibly a bit rarer than a Skyline in some areas.

Conzult
Thanks to Andy and Carl, car running as sweet as a nut. Cheers Guys.

Conzult
Is there anyone near Flint who would like to volunteer their services with the diagnostic pad on the car belonging to my other-half. It miss-fires and nearly stalls when accelerating at about 2000 r.p.m. It's a daily user so it doesn't stand for too long, and the fuel filter is also new, plugs O.K. Air filter O.K. also.

She's alive and well !
After much cursing, swearing and bashing frozen fingers, the Fairlady lives and breathes. It appears to have been "water" in the fuel system, must have collected in the swirl tank and then fed to fuel rail. For future reference, pump at least half a gallon through the filter before trying anything else, if you ever have a similar problem. Many thanks for the suggestions. Happy New Year to one and all, Pete.

Rear Caliper bolts
The bolts you broke hold the two halves of the caliper together. They will need replacing or they will split apart when brake hydraulic pressure is applied. Don't split them. It may be better to either take it to a decent engineering shop or get another caliper from someone who is breaking a car up.

Dead Z
Thanks guys. I've had the plugs out, they're O.K. gap 0.035",cranked engine and fuel flowing into container while cranking O.K. Will remove CAS and listen for injectors ticking once I get circulation back in my hands, friggin' freezin, I think my brain has frozen. Once again thanks guys, have a Merry Christmas, hopefully Santa will tow the car away and fix it !!!

Dead Z
I did do a search before I asked the question, but nothing came up. I would have thought someone MUST have had a similar problem at some time, never mind. Didn't want to start WW3. Will check CAS and number of plugs firing also fuel flow. Regarding fuel, does the regulator (the little diaphram between 5 & 6 cylinders) control the injector fuel rail pressure and is it possible to hear the injectors "ticking" when they operate ? Commence "Round 3", sorry guys, couldn't resist.

Dead Z
Thanks for the tips, will see how I get on. Cheers.
-
Dead Z
No apparent smell of fuel from exhaust when cranked.

Dead Z
Car started fine, reversed out of drive and died. Checked, (1) Spark = O.K. (2) Uncoupled fuel filter = Gushed out when ignition turned on. (3) Checked ECU = reading 55, no faults. Any other suggestions, HELP.

N/W meet
Sorry guys, just logged on and found p.m. a bit late I know but, if you don't mind mixing it with some Skyline owners there is a Christmas do being organised at the Afon Conwy just off the Llandudno / Llanrwst junction A55 9th December. Lee, the guy that runs the place is a Skyline owner so the mental thing runs through us all. Let us know how it sounds ? May have to check if there is enough room for everyone, but will keep you posted.

Tyre Sizes
Don't forget tyre pressures, I've found 28 p.s.i. all round on 235 - 255s is a good ride and doesn't appear to affect tyre wear.
