Watched the ol' gal grumble up the road today :cry: -I just hope Chris and Suzy enjoy her as much as I did! Might of mentioned before that out of all the cars Iv'e ''messed'' with,the 600 was the one I would liked to of hung on to,well it's done now and got to focus on the goal!! :D

Yep!-but I wouldn't risk it without an oven!! Old 'celly' was best for this :)

Leave it overnight mate,to be sure!-dropping cool now! As for the laquer,put on a first coat lightly,covering the whole surface,allow to 'flash off''(depends on temp) then give it another coat,usally 3 coats will give enough to machine polish later.

The basecoat (red) is paint+thinner,leave to dry matt,about an hour to make sure the solvents are evaporated,you can use a 'fast' thinner if you want. The laquer is 2 pack because you mix hardener into it to make it go off (like filler) then thin it to suit,thinner always goes in last! usally 2:1:1 HTH!

That's your problem imho!-your base coat was still wet and it should dry matt! Then the laquer put on for the finish.Yes you can get 2 pack laquer and is really the best to use but you will need hardener and thinners for it.leave at least a week if not baked before polishing!

When you say 2 pack paint (red) did you use hardener? was it a gloss finish??
