  4. Evening Smithy, I shall list it all early next week. All the work was carried out by David Evenden at Evenden engineering. Top guy and a good friend of mine now. Always helpful and his work has been faultless to date.

  7. Just remembered John, It is still running with the 555cc injectors. The spec for the engine rebuild is endless. Everything has been uprated/block cryogenically treated etc etc. With all this in mind and without investing in more electronics, do you have a chip which can give me 500 rwhp with my current set-up? Cheers.
  8. Hi John, That has confused me a little as the car is running at 20psi and has done with me for about a year now using the Apexi AVCR. The turbos I was told are 360 thrust ball bearing turbos which were garrets reconditioned to that spec by turbo technics. Cams are standard. However, I have a dyno printout for 457bhp from a run earlier this year. Does any of this make any sense to you. Using your chip at that psi am i doing my car damage? Regards Kash
  9. Hi John, I have owned a nissan 300zx twin turbo in red for over a year now and had major work/ restoration done to it. Basically it has been built to handle 750hp. just over 3 years ago. The engineering company that built it said it perviously had a stand alone apexi in it and an apexi avcr boost controller to run it to 700hp. However the stand alone apxei was removed form the car before it came into my possesion. I noticed under the passenger footwell the ecu has one of your chips in it. The chip states it has been programmed to handle 555cc injectors, stock/cam/turbos./smic *** something intake..and then your name with it. I just wanted to know how much hp can this chip handle and if you can shed any more light regarding this matter. Your reply would be really appreciated. Kash
  10. Hi all, Happy new year! Just a general question really. How often does a nissan 300zx twin turbo need an engine oil change? Also what are the signs to show you that your enigine needs rebuilding by looking at the oil of the engine? Regards Kash
  11. Sorry mate I wasn't very clear, in neutral and the car is idling it doesnt but on full throttle it does.
  12. Thanks for the advice lads, going up to dunk300zxtt point regarding boost on full throttle reaching above zero. My zed isnt doing that, so I am hoping it is just a boost leak.I have sent my car to the engineering company that built it. So hopefully they will come back with the all clear regarding the turbos. The owner who built the car has said to be over the phone today that a turbo issue is highly unlikely...we shall wait and see!! Thanks again.
  13. Also from monitoring my boost gauge, the turbos seem to be spooling up fine...Saying that even if i tap the accelerator the first turbo from the gauge seems to reach o from -17 quite quickly..does that mean anything? Kash
  14. Thanks for asking Andy, I have a nissan 300zx twin turbo, 5 speed manual. I am currently experiencing power loss which has been progressive the more I drive the car. It's more around the first turbo stage, as after I hit 40 mph and move throught to 3rd gear..the power curve is alot better but still not as good as before. I believe I can hear a slight low pitched sound from the turbo's through acceleration and deceleration. Although, I am losing no oil, there is no smoke..I am slightly confused to why this would occur? Regards
  15. Evening All, As this week-end comes closer to the end. Would anyone(s) be able to shed some light relating to turbo failure symptoms. My main question being: Can turbos fail without giving any smoke through the exhaust, and typical tell-tell signs.. If so..can you notice this by the way the turbo sounds under load whilst driving the car and will performace be affected? Regards Kash

  19. Hi all, I am relaticvely new to the site as I have recently aquired a highly modified nissan 300zx several months ago. It was previously on Piston heads for sale. A red nissan 300zx twinturbo manual that has had extensive work done to it with 2 dyno read outs. One for 454.4bhp and 475lbs of torque and another for 543.3bhp and 550lbs of torque. I have recently uprated the gearbox as it was shot with one that can handle 800bhp. hid lights and 6 piston AP racing brakes and discs all round. The problems started a few weeks ago...I noticed I was losing performance and the car started developing a low toned type of whining sound.on acceleration and decleration.I was concerned it was the 1st turbo (currently has 360 thrust ballbearing turbos) but no blue/white smoke to indicate this? performace levels I have to say must be around 330bhp! as even scooby's now keep up with me and m3's! Also in regards to the clutch... first and second are fine the power comes in as much as i have explained smoothly but, from third as i reach 4000 revs the car suddenly jumps up 2 thousand revs and then slowly brings power through with delay... Can any help me with this as I am slightly conerned..also I think the clutch bearings may have gone as they are very noisy...ticky....all the time through the rev range?
